70

02:24 ,680 --> 00:02:26,827

Marc: Let's jump in and have a nice conversation.

71

02:26 ,887 --> 00:02:27,609

Marc: Really enjoyed it.

72

02:28 ,180 --> 00:02:31,288

Marc: Today is Anya Savchich Day, right here on

73

02:31 ,349 --> 00:02:32,191

Marc: Story and Craft.

74

02:34 ,125 --> 00:02:35,228

Marc: How are you doing this afternoon?

75

02:36 ,122 --> 00:02:37,547

Marc: Anything good going on?

76

02:38 ,001 --> 00:02:43,303

Anja: I'm doing great Not much Preparing for the

77

02:43 ,544 --> 00:02:45,209

Anja: Ricky Stanicky premiere, which I'm really

78

02:45 ,249 --> 00:02:47,886

Anja: excited about, so just figuring out looks

79

02:47 ,987 --> 00:02:48,388

Anja: for that.

80

02:49 ,281 --> 00:02:49,882

Marc: Oh, that's right.

81

02:49 ,922 --> 00:02:51,065

Marc: That's right Because you got to do the red

82

02:51 ,085 --> 00:02:51,646

Marc: carpet thing.

83

02:51 ,666 --> 00:02:52,668

Marc: You got to make sure you got you.

84

02:52 ,688 --> 00:02:56,204

Anja: That's right, yeah, it's always fun, but

85

02:56 ,244 --> 00:02:57,508

Anja: it's always a little stressful too.

86

02:58 ,322 --> 00:03:00,068

Marc: Well, is this something you decide yourself?

87

03:00 ,100 --> 00:03:01,643

Marc: Because if I was doing this, it'd be like I

88

03:01 ,663 --> 00:03:04,308

Marc: got to hire somebody like listen, this

89

03:04 ,348 --> 00:03:05,491

Marc: needs help, you know.

90

03:05 ,671 --> 00:03:06,052

Anja: Totally.

91

03:07 ,240 --> 00:03:08,584

Anja: I mean you can hire someone, but it's still

92

03:08 ,966 --> 00:03:09,367

Anja: up to you.

93

03:10 ,360 --> 00:03:12,025

Anja: So there's always that little bit of

94

03:12 ,065 --> 00:03:12,426

Anja: pressure.

95

03:12 ,486 --> 00:03:14,070

Anja: But it's fun, I enjoy it.

96

03:14 ,520 --> 00:03:15,565

Marc: Now, when is the premiere going to be?

97

03:16 ,160 --> 00:03:17,885

Anja: Our premiere is March 5th.

98

03:18 ,206 --> 00:03:19,510

Marc: Okay, it's my oldest daughter's birthday.

99

03:19 ,760 --> 00:03:20,663

Marc: She turns 21,.

100

03:20 ,704 --> 00:03:21,868

Marc: So I'm going to have a 21-year-old.

101

03:22 ,040 --> 00:03:24,044

Marc: So still getting my head around that idea.

102

03:24 ,425 --> 00:03:25,047

Marc: I know, it's weird.

103

03:25 ,087 --> 00:03:26,931

Anja: Congratulations, that's fun.

104

03:26 ,951 --> 00:03:27,552

Anja: Yeah, it's so funny.

105

03:28 ,000 --> 00:03:29,203

Marc: It's the youngest one is the one who's

106

03:29 ,243 --> 00:03:31,287

Marc: excited to turn 21 because I can drink,

107

03:32 ,470 --> 00:03:33,232

Marc: yeah, yeah.

108

03:34 Home in Vancouver (49 Seconds)

03:34 ,000 --> 00:03:34,060

Marc: Now?

109

03:34 ,080 --> 00:03:35,225

Marc: Do you live in Los Angeles right now?

110

03:35 ,880 --> 00:03:37,823

Anja: Right now I'm actually in Vancouver BC in

111

03:37 ,863 --> 00:03:38,504

Anja: Canada.

112

03:38 ,524 --> 00:03:40,567

Marc: Okay, okay, can you still call Canada home?

113

03:40 ,927 --> 00:03:42,209

Anja: I do, yeah, I do.

114

03:42 ,269 --> 00:03:43,391

Anja: I mean my family's here.

115

03:43 ,451 --> 00:03:47,745

Anja: I grew up here, my friends, so it's

116

03:47 ,785 --> 00:03:49,169

Anja: definitely my home.

117

03:49 ,460 --> 00:03:51,205

Marc: But this last year I just kind of checked

118

03:51 ,225 --> 00:03:52,950

Marc: you've been like really busy.

119

03:53 ,360 --> 00:03:55,304

Marc: Do you have a sense yourself that you've

120

03:55 ,364 --> 00:03:58,050

Marc: been running a lot, or has it actually been

121

03:58 ,090 --> 00:03:59,433

Marc: pretty easily managed?

122

03:59 ,760 --> 00:04:02,747

Anja: Well, I think, you know, sometimes we film

123

04:02 ,787 --> 00:04:04,431

Anja: projects and then they come out so much

124

04:04 ,511 --> 00:04:04,752

Anja: later.

125

04:05 ,440 --> 00:04:07,244

Anja: So even when I think of Ricky Stanicky

126

04:07 ,264 --> 00:04:09,670

Anja: coming out, that was a year ago that we

127

04:09 ,730 --> 00:04:10,431

Anja: filmed this movie.

128

04:11 ,641 --> 00:04:13,407

Anja: So it feels like a year ago I was really

129

04:13 ,447 --> 00:04:15,503

Anja: busy, and of course I've been busy since,

130

04:15 ,624 --> 00:04:18,191

Anja: but it's always waiting for the projects to

131

04:18 ,211 --> 00:04:18,511

Anja: come out.

132

04:18 ,760 --> 00:04:19,965

Anja: That's always the most exciting part, I

133

04:20 ,005 --> 00:04:20,166

Anja: think.

134

04:20 ,780 --> 00:04:23,088

Anja: So now feels like an exciting time, yeah.

135

04:23 ,840 --> 00:04:24,911

Marc: Yeah, I was speaking with somebody the

136

04:24 ,936 --> 00:04:26,190

Marc: other day and I said definitely don't have

137

04:26 ,215 --> 00:04:27,079

Marc: some monster resume.

138

04:27 ,139 --> 00:04:28,445

Marc: But I always thought it was easy.

139

04:28 ,480 --> 00:04:28,841

Marc: You go in.

140

04:29 ,001 --> 00:04:30,285

Marc: If you're an actor, you go, do your thing

141

04:30 ,305 --> 00:04:30,726

Marc: and leave.

142

04:30 ,827 --> 00:04:33,061

Marc: But being a director though, that's a,

143

04:33 ,081 --> 00:04:35,265

Marc: you're married to a project for like a year

144

04:35 ,486 --> 00:04:37,209

Marc: and the actor folk got it easy.

145

04:37 ,790 --> 00:04:38,271

Anja: Totally.

146

04:38 ,351 --> 00:04:38,572

Anja: Yeah.

147

04:39 ,720 --> 00:04:41,029

Anja: I mean I've talked to a lot of actor

148

04:41 ,041 --> 00:04:42,338

Anja: friends about if they're interested in

149

04:42 ,349 --> 00:04:45,053

Anja: directing and when I worked on Ladder Milk

150

04:45 ,093 --> 00:04:46,515

Anja: with Ron Livingston I was like, would you

151

04:46 ,555 --> 00:04:47,116

Anja: ever direct?

152

04:47 ,300 --> 00:04:48,285

Anja: Is that something you're interested in?

153

04:48 ,440 --> 00:04:50,550

Anja: And he said, oh God, no, like I just want

154

04:50 ,570 --> 00:04:52,459

Anja: to come to work and then leave and then

155

04:52 ,519 --> 00:04:53,865

Anja: have them figure out the rest.

156

04:54 ,582 --> 00:04:56,028

Anja: And I thought, yeah, I mean, it's true,

157

04:56 ,200 --> 00:04:58,164

Anja: when you're acting you have that ability

158

04:58 ,204 --> 00:04:59,868

Anja: just to jump in and then jump right out.

159

05:00 ,069 --> 00:05:00,630

Marc: Yeah, exactly.

160

05:00 ,670 --> 00:05:01,632

Marc: By the way, I do have to apologize.

161

05:02 ,040 --> 00:05:03,486

Marc: We literally just moved in not too long ago,

162

05:03 ,600 --> 00:05:05,766

Marc: so if you see some boxes just outside of

163

05:05 ,826 --> 00:05:07,951

Marc: frame, that's that's us still getting

164

05:08 ,011 --> 00:05:09,102

Marc: unpacked in our new digs.

165

05:09 ,343 --> 00:05:11,430

Anja: So no worries, where did you move?

166

05:11 ,721 --> 00:05:13,570

Marc: A little place called South Pottery Island,

167

05:13 ,611 --> 00:05:15,379

Marc: texas, which is on the very tip of the

168

05:15 ,419 --> 00:05:16,243

Marc: South Texas coast.

169

05:16 ,920 --> 00:05:18,223

Marc: If you're a space nerd and watch the whole

170

05:18 ,263 --> 00:05:21,311

Marc: SpaceX thing, that's about yeah, yeah, yeah.

171

05:21 ,600 --> 00:05:23,808

Marc: It's seven miles south of me, across the

172

05:23 ,848 --> 00:05:24,008

Marc: bay.

173

05:24 ,280 --> 00:05:25,522

Marc: That's where they launched the rocket, so

174

05:25 ,582 --> 00:05:27,140

Marc: it's so we're getting all excited.

175

05:27 ,180 --> 00:05:29,268

Marc: They got one going up here soon so really.

176

05:29 ,882 --> 00:05:30,806

Marc: But yeah, everybody goes down.

177

05:31 ,040 --> 00:05:33,967

Marc: There is a little inlet to get to the, to

178

05:33 ,987 --> 00:05:35,972

Marc: the bay, and everybody stands there and

179

05:35 ,992 --> 00:05:38,106

Marc: just kind of find I think it's exactly for

180

05:38 ,487 --> 00:05:40,161

Marc: three, three or five miles, I'm not quite

181

05:40 ,201 --> 00:05:44,008

Marc: sure from where it seems closer, but they,

182

05:44 ,068 --> 00:05:45,351

Marc: I see they were stacking the rocket the

183

05:45 ,391 --> 00:05:46,272

Marc: other day, so it's kind of neat.

184

05:47 ,300 --> 00:05:48,867

Marc: My, my inner nerd is flexing right now.

185

05:49 ,160 --> 00:05:50,347

Anja: That is so cool.

186

05:50 ,781 --> 00:05:52,066

Anja: I would love to go up to space.

187

05:52 ,560 --> 00:05:54,466

Anja: It'd be terrifying, but it would be really

188

05:54 ,506 --> 00:05:54,767

Anja: cool.

189

05:55 ,148 --> 00:05:56,903

Marc: Yeah, there are days when I just like get

190

05:56 ,923 --> 00:05:58,327

Marc: me out of here for just a few minutes.

191

05:59 ,960 --> 00:06:02,365

Marc: But I was curious as far as the origin

192

06:02 ,405 --> 00:06:04,911

Marc: story kind of you know Canada growing up

193

06:04 ,971 --> 00:06:07,225

Marc: there, when did you make your way down here?

194

06:07 ,460 --> 00:06:09,347

Marc: Well, actually, let me kind of even rewind

195

06:09 ,367 --> 00:06:09,809

Marc: back further.

196

06:09 ,960 --> 00:06:11,004

Marc: Was this acting thing?

197

06:12 ,430 --> 00:06:14,298

Marc: Was it always part of your DNA, or always

198

06:14 ,338 --> 00:06:14,740

Marc: doing something?

199

06:14 ,981 --> 00:06:16,826

Marc: Were you a theater kid or this kind of come

200

06:16 ,866 --> 00:06:17,688

Marc: later on in life?

201

06:17 ,849 --> 00:06:20,386

Anja: Yeah, I'll start further back.

202

06:20 ,640 --> 00:06:23,487

Anja: So I was born in Bosnia, which was

203

06:23 ,507 --> 00:06:26,243

Anja: Yugoslavia at the time, and my family moved

204

06:26 ,263 --> 00:06:27,547

Anja: to Canada when I was around three.

205

06:29 ,101 --> 00:06:31,405

Anja: So we lived in Calgary, which is in Alberta,

206

06:31 ,705 --> 00:06:34,890

Anja: kind of more like a cowboy type of province.

207

06:35 ,331 --> 00:06:36,012

Marc: Familiar with it?

208

06:36 ,052 --> 00:06:38,422

Marc: Yeah, I'm a native Texan so I'm all

209

06:38 ,442 --> 00:06:39,104

Marc: familiar with the Calgary folk.

210

06:39 ,124 --> 00:06:39,284

Marc: Yeah.

211

06:39 ,465 --> 00:06:40,588

Anja: Exactly Very similar.

212

06:42 ,464 --> 00:06:43,760

Anja: It's like the Texas of Canada basically.

213

06:43 ,760 --> 00:06:45,527

Anja: So we lived there until I was about 10.

214

06:46 ,000 --> 00:06:47,985

Anja: And I remember I took my first drama class,

215

06:48 ,286 --> 00:06:51,021

Anja: actually in junior high, and I remember the

216

06:51 ,041 --> 00:06:53,026

Anja: teacher just saying to me huh, you know,

217

06:53 ,046 --> 00:06:54,430

Anja: you're not, you're not bad at this.

218

06:55 ,080 --> 00:06:56,584

Anja: And I remember that stuck in my head and I

219

06:56 ,624 --> 00:06:59,411

Anja: was like, oh okay, that's interesting, okay.

220

07:00 ,702 --> 00:07:02,507

Anja: And then when I moved to Vancouver with my

221

07:02 ,587 --> 00:07:06,659

Anja: family in grade eight, I started taking

222

07:06 ,679 --> 00:07:09,268

Anja: drama class and I just kept taking it every

223

07:09 ,308 --> 00:07:11,043

Anja: year and it was the same teacher and the

224

07:11 ,084 --> 00:07:13,710

Anja: same kids pretty much cycling through, and

225

07:13 ,750 --> 00:07:14,632

Anja: I just really loved it.

226

07:14 ,720 --> 00:07:17,607

Anja: I felt like a break from my day and a time

227

07:17 ,627 --> 00:07:20,201

Anja: to just kind of be silly and relax, and so

228

07:20 ,241 --> 00:07:21,104

Anja: I just started to love it.

229

07:22 ,941 --> 00:07:25,026

Anja: And then eventually I kind of ended up

230

07:25 ,066 --> 00:07:26,650

Anja: getting an agent and I thought, oh, this is

231

07:26 ,690 --> 00:07:27,231

Anja: kind of cool.

232

07:27 ,920 --> 00:07:29,906

Anja: And I started auditioning and, you know,

233

07:30 ,187 --> 00:07:31,330

Anja: slowly building my resume.

234

07:31 ,800 --> 00:07:33,529

Marc: Was there a lot of stuff shooting?

235

07:33 ,760 --> 00:07:35,866

Marc: Because I know Vancouver, there's a lot of

236

07:35 ,886 --> 00:07:38,221

Marc: stuff shooting up there, yeah, but what

237

07:38 ,262 --> 00:07:39,326

Marc: about where you were growing up?

238

07:39 ,480 --> 00:07:39,801

Marc: Was there?

239

07:39 ,901 --> 00:07:41,665

Marc: Were there many on-camera opportunities, or

240

07:41 ,685 --> 00:07:43,829

Marc: are you looking more at like theater and

241

07:43 ,870 --> 00:07:44,110

Marc: stuff?

242

07:44 ,471 --> 00:07:46,643

Anja: Yeah, I mean I definitely was most

243

07:46 ,683 --> 00:07:48,467

Anja: interested in film and TV because I just

244

07:48 ,568 --> 00:07:49,390

Anja: loved to watch it.

245

07:50 ,400 --> 00:07:52,886

Anja: I was a huge fan of Degrassi when I was

246

07:53 ,167 --> 00:07:55,151

Anja: younger and it was something I was like

247

07:55 ,311 --> 00:07:57,527

Anja: obsessed with because it was Canadian and

248

07:57 ,567 --> 00:07:59,496

Anja: it was kind of it was international and I

249

07:59 ,537 --> 00:08:01,443

Anja: thought how cool that all these kids get to

250

08:01 ,503 --> 00:08:02,946

Anja: hang out together and pretend they're going

251

08:02 ,966 --> 00:08:06,742

Anja: to high school with each other, and yeah,

252

08:06 ,802 --> 00:08:09,490

Anja: that was sort of a big thing for me.

253

08:09 ,960 --> 00:08:13,909

Anja: And then, yeah, what was the question?

254

08:13 ,969 --> 00:08:14,550

Anja: I got lost.

255

08:15 ,820 --> 00:08:16,782

Marc: No, we're just kind of talking about where

256

08:16 ,823 --> 00:08:18,467

Marc: you came from and the Degrassi thing.

257

08:18 ,507 --> 00:08:19,349

Marc: That's interesting.

258

08:19 ,369 --> 00:08:20,271

Announcer: What else were you watching?

259

08:20 ,760 --> 00:08:21,805

Marc: Was there anything else that besides?

260

08:22 ,588 --> 00:08:24,939

Marc: That was like actors, that were you like?

261

08:24 ,999 --> 00:08:26,727

Marc: Oh my god, they just kind of lit your fire.

262

08:27 ,722 --> 00:08:30,868

Anja: Well, I loved all the teen stuff when I was

263

08:31 ,089 --> 00:08:32,471

Anja: in high school, obviously because I was a

264

08:32 ,492 --> 00:08:36,407

Anja: teen, so like the OC or the 90210 spin-off,

265

08:36 ,507 --> 00:08:38,552

Anja: like that stuff had me hooked.

266

08:38 ,840 --> 00:08:41,607

Anja: I was just like this is the drama that I

267

08:41 ,687 --> 00:08:41,908

Anja: need.

268

08:43 ,800 --> 00:08:45,725

Anja: Not to mention, everyone in those shows is

269

08:45 ,765 --> 00:08:48,852

Anja: like 30 playing 17.

270

08:49 ,100 --> 00:08:51,027

Anja: So I'm like where are all these men in my

271

08:51 ,087 --> 00:08:51,308

Anja: life?

272

08:52 ,081 --> 00:08:53,570

Marc: I was just pointing that out to my daughter

273

08:53 ,611 --> 00:08:54,053

Marc: the other day.

274

08:54 ,094 --> 00:08:55,080

Marc: We were watching something.

275

08:55 ,301 --> 00:08:56,122

Announcer: Oh we were watching.

276

08:57 ,566 --> 00:08:59,009

Marc: Don't tell mom the babysitter's dead.

277

08:59 ,310 --> 00:09:00,032

Marc: That was what it was.

278

09:00 ,440 --> 00:09:00,982

Marc: We were going back.

279

09:01 ,022 --> 00:09:03,027

Marc: It was when I came out 91, 92, somewhere

280

09:03 ,047 --> 00:09:03,489

Marc: around there.

281

09:05 ,603 --> 00:09:06,647

Marc: And you're looking at like they're

282

09:06 ,667 --> 00:09:07,650

Marc: definitely not a teenager.

283

09:08 ,200 --> 00:09:09,385

Marc: Why are they trying to pass them off?

284

09:09 ,840 --> 00:09:11,204

Marc: But that was kind of the way things were

285

09:11 ,244 --> 00:09:11,605

Marc: back in the day.

286

09:11 ,645 --> 00:09:14,422

Anja: Yeah, it's amazing, Totally, totally, and I

287

09:14 ,462 --> 00:09:15,065

Anja: kind of get it.

288

09:15 ,280 --> 00:09:18,547

Anja: I mean, it's like appealing to younger

289

09:18 ,587 --> 00:09:18,888

Anja: people.

290

09:18 ,948 --> 00:09:21,401

Anja: I think to look at older people Like we're

291

09:21 ,421 --> 00:09:24,184

Anja: always looking up to the older kids, so it

292

09:24 ,224 --> 00:09:24,806

Anja: makes sense.

293

09:25 ,201 --> 00:09:26,788

Anja: I can see where it gains more viewers.

294

09:26 ,869 --> 00:09:28,918

Anja: But it's definitely confusing when you're

295

09:28 ,978 --> 00:09:30,865

Anja: watching it at that age, comparing yourself.

296

09:31 ,026 --> 00:09:31,628

Marc: Well, it's funny.

297

09:32 ,020 --> 00:09:33,425

Marc: You know you mentioned the Canada thing and

298

09:33 ,445 --> 00:09:34,087

Marc: stuff on TV.

299

09:35 ,200 --> 00:09:37,285

Marc: I remember being in elementary, junior high

300

09:37 ,807 --> 00:09:39,371

Marc: and it seemed like all the educational

301

09:39 ,431 --> 00:09:40,882

Marc: programming that we watched.

302

09:40 ,922 --> 00:09:42,447

Marc: You know, I'm old enough to remember when

303

09:42 ,467 --> 00:09:44,862

Marc: the teacher would wheel in the media cart

304

09:44 ,962 --> 00:09:45,584

Marc: into the room.

305

09:45 ,644 --> 00:09:47,949

Anja: You know, and TV and the VC, oh God, yeah,

306

09:48 ,009 --> 00:09:48,771

Anja: of course Me too.

307

09:49 ,560 --> 00:09:50,504

Marc: I remember the 16 millimeter projector, but

308

09:50 ,524 --> 00:09:51,267

Marc: that's really going back.

309

09:51 ,760 --> 00:09:53,386

Marc: But all those things seem to be produced in

310

09:53 ,426 --> 00:09:55,606

Marc: Canada and so I just like kind of view it

311

09:55 ,666 --> 00:09:56,007

Marc: like they.

312

09:56 ,068 --> 00:09:58,298

Marc: There were a lot of, there was a lot of

313

09:58 ,338 --> 00:09:59,903

Marc: educational programming apparently getting

314

09:59 ,963 --> 00:10:02,941

Marc: produced in the neck of the woods, I think

315

10:02 ,961 --> 00:10:04,986

Marc: Canada, and actor always think comedy, you

316

10:05 ,006 --> 00:10:07,351

Marc: know, like John Candy and all that Really.

317

10:07 ,980 --> 00:10:09,563

Anja: Yeah, I always think, you know like Mike

318

10:09 ,603 --> 00:10:10,505

Anja: Myers or whatever.

319

10:10 ,725 --> 00:10:11,006

Anja: Sure.

320

10:11 ,106 --> 00:10:13,150

Anja: Catherine O'Hara, eugene Levy, yes, indeed,

321

10:13 ,190 --> 00:10:13,851

Anja: yeah, the.

322

10:13 ,891 --> 00:10:16,885

Marc: OGs yeah, when you were coming up, was

323

10:16 ,905 --> 00:10:18,502

Marc: there a desire, Because you know you look

324

10:18 ,522 --> 00:10:20,769

Marc: at louder milk, you know, would you say the

325

10:20 ,809 --> 00:10:22,583

Marc: comedy was on the agenda or were you

326

10:22 ,623 --> 00:10:24,709

Marc: wanting to kind of go more of the drama OC

327

10:24 ,809 --> 00:10:25,090

Marc: route?

328

10:26 ,122 --> 00:10:27,387

Marc: Was there a desire early on?

329

10:28 ,121 --> 00:10:32,247

Anja: Oh man, I've always loved comedy.

330

10:32 ,800 --> 00:10:35,781

Anja: It's definitely my favorite genre and I

331

10:35 ,861 --> 00:10:37,646

Anja: think what I love about it the most is that

332

10:38 ,588 --> 00:10:39,831

Anja: people watch it all the time.

333

10:40 ,200 --> 00:10:42,010

Anja: Like when people talk to me about louder

334

10:42 ,030 --> 00:10:43,920

Anja: milk, they're like, oh, I'm watching it for

335

10:43 ,940 --> 00:10:46,764

Anja: the third time and I just think how cool is

336

10:46 ,825 --> 00:10:47,025

Anja: that?

337

10:47 ,106 --> 00:10:48,982

Anja: Yeah, I mean, it's so cool when you, when

338

10:49 ,002 --> 00:10:50,928

Anja: you watch something funny, you love how it

339

10:50 ,948 --> 00:10:52,983

Anja: makes you feel so you want to keep watching

340

10:53 ,003 --> 00:10:54,267

Anja: it, where sometimes you watch things that

341

10:54 ,287 --> 00:10:56,504

Anja: make you feel really, really gross inside,

342

10:56 ,544 --> 00:10:58,509

Anja: but they're so good but you're never going

343

10:58 ,529 --> 00:10:59,191

Anja: to watch them again.

344

10:59 ,560 --> 00:11:01,308

Anja: You know, like I think of Requiem for a

345

11:01 ,368 --> 00:11:02,151

Anja: Dream or something.

346

11:02 ,171 --> 00:11:03,055

Marc: Yeah, that's kind of a heavy one.

347

11:03 Experiences working on Netflix’s “Loudermilk”

11:03 ,120 --> 00:11:05,826

Anja: I loved that movie, but I'm never watching

348

11:05 ,846 --> 00:11:06,527

Anja: that movie again.

349

11:06 ,707 --> 00:11:07,289

Anja: There's no way.

350

11:07 ,349 --> 00:11:08,611

Anja: That's like a one time deal.

351

11:09 ,293 --> 00:11:10,623

Marc: Yeah, I hear people talking about that in

352

11:10 ,663 --> 00:11:11,406

Marc: interviews and stuff.

353

11:11 ,960 --> 00:11:13,364

Marc: I'm like, okay, I'm going to give it props,

354

11:13 ,424 --> 00:11:14,507

Marc: it was a solid movie.

355

11:14 ,547 --> 00:11:15,349

Marc: I can't watch it again.

356

11:15 ,389 --> 00:11:17,001

Marc: It's too much, it's a little much.

357

11:17 ,021 --> 00:11:18,986

Marc: You know, it's a, it's a pretty intense.

358

11:19 ,026 --> 00:11:19,928

Marc: I guess a better way of putting it.

359

11:19 ,948 --> 00:11:23,284

Anja: Yeah it's, it's a very dark, but I think

360

11:23 ,344 --> 00:11:25,088

Anja: that's why comedy really stands out.

361

11:25 ,128 --> 00:11:26,551

Anja: For me is the.

362

11:27 ,640 --> 00:11:29,666

Anja: The watchability of it, the rewatchability

363

11:29 ,706 --> 00:11:32,764

Anja: of it is just so exciting, and I love that.

364

11:32 ,784 --> 00:11:35,064

Anja: It makes people happy, so I was always

365

11:35 ,104 --> 00:11:35,867

Anja: drawn to it, definitely.

366

11:36 ,560 --> 00:11:37,487

Marc: Well, I have to say you, you are the reason

367

11:37 ,548 --> 00:11:38,878

Marc: why I watch louder milk.

368

11:39 ,281 --> 00:11:41,848

Marc: I'm a I'm a season and a half in right now,

369

11:41 ,909 --> 00:11:45,947

Marc: I believe and I remember it because the

370

11:46 ,308 --> 00:11:48,191

Marc: publicity photos they had had you wearing a

371

11:48 ,252 --> 00:11:49,234

Marc: CPAP thing.

372

11:49 ,320 --> 00:11:51,328

Announcer: I'm like I just got to watch this.

373

11:51 ,560 --> 00:11:53,685

Marc: I just got to figure out why they chose to

374

11:53 ,786 --> 00:11:56,452

Marc: use this graphic to promote the show you

375

11:57 ,784 --> 00:11:59,890

Marc: know and and it, excuse me revealed itself.

376

12:00 ,040 --> 00:12:01,946

Marc: Plus also you know I'm going back in time

377

12:01 ,986 --> 00:12:03,591

Marc: big Ron Livingston fan.

378

12:03 ,660 --> 00:12:07,265

Marc: I mean that had to be like you had you had

379

12:07 ,285 --> 00:12:08,307

Marc: to have seen office space.

380

12:08 ,547 --> 00:12:09,709

Marc: Tell me you've seen office space.

381

12:10 ,109 --> 00:12:12,012

Anja: Of course, yeah, oh my God, at multiple

382

12:12 ,032 --> 00:12:12,433

Anja: times.

383

12:12 ,493 --> 00:12:13,915

Anja: Of course I've tried to get my kids to

384

12:13 ,935 --> 00:12:14,155

Anja: watch it.

385

12:14 ,640 --> 00:12:15,844

Marc: I grew up in Dallas and they shot it there

386

12:16 ,145 --> 00:12:18,823

Marc: and it was so indicative, it was a time

387

12:18 ,863 --> 00:12:21,164

Marc: capsule it's such a good time capsule of

388

12:21 ,205 --> 00:12:24,044

Marc: that time People going working in cubicles

389

12:24 ,185 --> 00:12:24,806

Marc: and it.

390

12:24 ,947 --> 00:12:29,540

Marc: And even at the opening scene, uh, when

391

12:29 ,560 --> 00:12:31,154

Marc: he's driving down the highway and you can't

392

12:31 ,194 --> 00:12:32,401

Marc: get in the right light, I don't know if you

393

12:32 ,421 --> 00:12:33,023

Marc: how much you remember.

394

12:33 ,203 --> 00:12:34,366

Anja: Oh yeah, so good.

395

12:34 ,547 --> 00:12:35,509

Anja: Of course I remember that.

396

12:35 ,529 --> 00:12:36,491

Marc: That's LBJ.

397

12:37 ,080 --> 00:12:38,584

Marc: I used to drive that to get to the radio

398

12:38 ,604 --> 00:12:40,850

Marc: station where I worked and and I was like

399

12:41 ,051 --> 00:12:43,627

Marc: God this is such a like perfect time cap.

400

12:44 ,500 --> 00:12:46,031

Marc: That's a movie that I'll watch once a year

401

12:46 ,131 --> 00:12:46,594

Marc: probably.

402

12:46 ,615 --> 00:12:47,741

Marc: You know there are those movies you got to

403

12:47 ,761 --> 00:12:48,967

Marc: catch them like once a year.

404

12:49 ,822 --> 00:12:52,461

Marc: But uh, I have to ask though I mean the Ron

405

12:52 ,481 --> 00:12:53,885

Marc: Livingston thing is he is.

406

12:54 ,426 --> 00:12:55,930

Marc: How close to character is he?

407

12:56 ,010 --> 00:12:57,883

Marc: Because I've, throughout the arc of his

408

12:57 ,923 --> 00:13:00,420

Marc: career he can do different things, don't

409

13:00 ,461 --> 00:13:02,207

Marc: get me wrong, but Ron Livingston always

410

13:02 ,247 --> 00:13:04,243

Marc: shows up I would just kind of get as a

411

13:04 ,264 --> 00:13:06,389

Marc: quasi fan boy of the uh, that, that old

412

13:06 ,449 --> 00:13:07,371

Marc: movie, I was curious.

413

13:07 ,961 --> 00:13:12,251

Anja: He's um a lovely, kind, humble person.

414

13:13 ,202 --> 00:13:16,210

Anja: Um I wouldn't say he is like ladder milk.

415

13:16 ,920 --> 00:13:20,870

Anja: Um he definitely keeps his opinions more to

416

13:20 ,910 --> 00:13:21,351

Anja: himself.

417

13:22 ,001 --> 00:13:25,262

Anja: Yeah much more than the character Um he's.

418

13:26 ,063 --> 00:13:30,151

Anja: He's a friendly person who, um, I would say

419

13:30 ,211 --> 00:13:34,285

Anja: he's very work oriented, so he is more

420

13:34 ,345 --> 00:13:37,492

Anja: private, um, but still kind and giving.

421

13:38 ,201 --> 00:13:40,906

Anja: And, um, he's taught me a lot about acting

422

13:40 ,966 --> 00:13:43,631

Anja: and film and he's technically such an

423

13:43 ,692 --> 00:13:45,962

Anja: incredible actor also, so he always knows,

424

13:46 ,022 --> 00:13:48,207

Anja: like, where to turn and where the light is

425

13:48 ,327 --> 00:13:51,033

Anja: and how to move on camera.

426

13:51 ,160 --> 00:13:53,661

Anja: So I learned a lot about that from him, um,

427

13:54 ,323 --> 00:13:55,447

Anja: and he's just always so present.

428

13:56 ,020 --> 00:13:57,805

Anja: There's a reason that he's such an, you

429

13:57 ,825 --> 00:14:00,872

Anja: know, indie icon and I'm just so glad that

430

14:00 ,934 --> 00:14:02,932

Anja: ladder milk has popped off the way it has,

431

14:02 ,994 --> 00:14:04,842

Anja: because I think he deserves that lead role,

432

14:05 ,423 --> 00:14:06,827

Anja: you know, and to really be known for

433

14:06 ,867 --> 00:14:07,208

Anja: something.

434

14:07 ,349 --> 00:14:09,053

Marc: Yeah, it's not really what you call a

435

14:09 ,073 --> 00:14:09,338

Marc: sleeper.

436

14:09 ,540 --> 00:14:10,744

Marc: I don't know what you call it, but it's not

437

14:10 ,824 --> 00:14:12,890

Marc: something that was heavily promoted.

438

14:12 ,910 --> 00:14:14,184

Marc: That I that I can recall.

439

14:14 ,661 --> 00:14:16,396

Marc: I just kept seeing the little icon pop up

440

14:16 ,457 --> 00:14:16,800

Marc: on Netflix.

441

14:16 ,860 --> 00:14:18,206

Marc: I was like I'll check it out.

442

14:18 ,800 --> 00:14:20,247

Marc: I was working on my laptop.

443

14:20 ,481 --> 00:14:22,275

Marc: I'm like I don't know how many up.

444

14:22 ,316 --> 00:14:25,126

Marc: I think I Did a season in a day or so or

445

14:25 ,187 --> 00:14:25,949

Marc: like a day and a half.

446

14:26 ,069 --> 00:14:28,569

Anja: you know something like that no, no, no is

447

14:28 ,589 --> 00:14:29,395

Anja: a couple days.

448

14:29 ,476 --> 00:14:32,106

Marc: I went through it, it was but also will

449

14:32 ,126 --> 00:14:32,587

Marc: sasso.

450

14:32 ,607 --> 00:14:34,052

Marc: Whenever I see him show up in something,

451

14:34 ,821 --> 00:14:36,365

Marc: he's always just one of those guys like

452

14:36 ,546 --> 00:14:37,488

Marc: he's kind of want to watch him.

453

14:38 ,130 --> 00:14:40,513

Marc: His facial expression, so I can name a

454

14:40 ,594 --> 00:14:41,300

Marc: handful of things.

455

14:41 ,380 --> 00:14:42,244

Marc: He was one of those guys.

456

14:42 ,324 --> 00:14:43,930

Marc: It when he shows up in his scene you know

457

14:43 ,950 --> 00:14:45,536

Marc: it's gonna get interesting and I.

458

14:45 ,757 --> 00:14:47,744

Marc: But I got to know when you were first

459

14:47 ,804 --> 00:14:49,590

Marc: presented ladder milk, did you?

460

14:50 ,172 --> 00:14:51,476

Marc: Did you kind of like oh yeah, I'm gonna

461

14:51 ,496 --> 00:14:51,858

Marc: jump in?

462

14:51 ,918 --> 00:14:53,684

Marc: Or did you kind of Did take you a moment

463

14:53 ,724 --> 00:14:56,063

Marc: before you kind of Isolated what it was

464

14:56 ,123 --> 00:14:57,689

Marc: about and if you wanted to take part in it?

465

14:58 ,141 --> 00:15:00,707

Anja: Um, I mean, I right away wanted to be a

466

15:00 ,767 --> 00:15:04,022

Anja: part of it, because Ron and will are comedy

467

15:04 ,082 --> 00:15:04,503

Anja: legends.

468

15:04 ,543 --> 00:15:05,988

Anja: And then you have Peter Fairley, who's

469

15:06 ,049 --> 00:15:09,667

Anja: obviously a you know Hollywood, a list

470

15:09 ,907 --> 00:15:11,231

Anja: director in my eyes.

471

15:11 ,351 --> 00:15:13,858

Anja: He's created so many careers, he's created

472

15:13 ,918 --> 00:15:16,808

Anja: an entire new Subsect of comedy, I would

473

15:16 ,948 --> 00:15:17,229

Anja: argue.

474

15:18 ,201 --> 00:15:19,625

Anja: So I knew I wanted to be a part of it.

475

15:19 ,685 --> 00:15:21,731

Marc: Oh, he's, he's, he's phenomenal, it plus

476

15:21 ,811 --> 00:15:21,972

Marc: also.

477

15:22 ,040 --> 00:15:23,908

Marc: I remember I had a chance to audition for

478

15:23 ,948 --> 00:15:27,507

Marc: him Twice once once or twice for the movie

479

15:27 ,527 --> 00:15:29,371

Marc: the green book, and he brought me back in

480

15:29 ,412 --> 00:15:30,985

Marc: and I was like, oh, you know those

481

15:31 ,005 --> 00:15:32,554

Marc: callbacks, they feel good because you feel

482

15:32 ,574 --> 00:15:33,540

Marc: like you've almost booked it.

483

15:33 ,640 --> 00:15:35,966

Marc: You know you got a callback of course and

484

15:36 ,407 --> 00:15:38,311

Marc: he was he's, he was looking and it was the

485

15:38 ,391 --> 00:15:40,366

Marc: longest audition I think I've ever done is

486

15:40 ,386 --> 00:15:44,284

Marc: about almost shy 10 minutes, which is and

487

15:44 ,344 --> 00:15:46,532

Marc: oh, you said, listen, I just don't see for

488

15:46 ,552 --> 00:15:46,993

Marc: this character.

489

15:47 ,013 --> 00:15:48,659

Marc: I was like I was gonna say thanks.

490

15:48 ,679 --> 00:15:50,446

Marc: So much, just a chance to audition for the

491

15:50 ,466 --> 00:15:51,902

Marc: guy that Directed.

492

15:51 ,962 --> 00:15:52,585

Marc: You know something about.

493

15:52 ,645 --> 00:15:53,528

Announcer: Mary come on.

494

15:53 ,709 --> 00:15:56,238

Marc: You know, but he said but, and he hands me

495

15:56 ,259 --> 00:15:56,640

Marc: some sides.

496

15:57 ,001 --> 00:15:57,943

Marc: He's correct, god in the hall.

497

15:57 ,963 --> 00:15:59,347

Marc: I want you to work on this character.

498

15:59 ,367 --> 00:16:01,452

Marc: I was like, oh, you see me for another

499

16:01 ,472 --> 00:16:01,793

Marc: character.

500

16:01 ,840 --> 00:16:03,225

Marc: I'm saying this internally, you know.

501

16:03 ,987 --> 00:16:04,429

Marc: And then the.

502

16:04 ,649 --> 00:16:05,964

Marc: You know I usually don't get a lot of

503

16:06 ,024 --> 00:16:07,482

Marc: nerves and auditions, but that's one of the

504

16:07 ,522 --> 00:16:09,208

Marc: first times I got nerves is like, oh, wait

505

16:09 ,228 --> 00:16:09,469

Marc: a minute.

506

16:09 ,660 --> 00:16:11,846

Marc: But they ended up not casting me and won an

507

16:11 ,886 --> 00:16:13,650

Marc: Academy Award and that's kind of thing if

508

16:13 ,690 --> 00:16:14,692

Marc: you, if you don't cast me.

509

16:15 ,521 --> 00:16:17,246

Marc: Last one was Dallas buyers club.

510

16:17 ,286 --> 00:16:18,831

Marc: I remember I got really close to getting in.

511

16:20 ,021 --> 00:16:22,530

Marc: So it's sort of like you know don't cast me,

512

16:22 ,992 --> 00:16:23,875

Marc: bring me in for a callback.

513

16:23 ,895 --> 00:16:25,300

Marc: Don't cast me, you'll get an Academy Award.

514

16:25 ,641 --> 00:16:27,925

Anja: Right, oh my god, you should tell everybody

515

16:28 ,346 --> 00:16:29,909

Anja: but that wasn't really a funny movie.

516

16:30 ,250 --> 00:16:32,214

Marc: Obviously, there was some comedic notes to

517

16:32 ,294 --> 00:16:32,334

Marc: it.

518

16:32 ,681 --> 00:16:34,248

Marc: Yeah but he kind of floats back and forth,

519

16:35 ,323 --> 00:16:35,603

Marc: did he?

520

16:35 ,764 --> 00:16:37,569

Marc: Has he directed any episodes of ladder mill?

521

16:37 ,889 --> 00:16:38,391

Anja: He, he.

522

16:38 ,451 --> 00:16:43,161

Anja: So he was a co-creator with Bobby Mort, so

523

16:43 ,201 --> 00:16:45,407

Anja: him and Peter did the series together,

524

16:45 ,768 --> 00:16:48,602

Anja: wrote a lot of it together, and Peter

525

16:48 ,642 --> 00:16:51,169

Anja: directed the full first season and then for

526

16:51 ,209 --> 00:16:54,127

Anja: the second and third Peter and Bobby fairly

527

16:54 ,207 --> 00:16:57,392

Anja: shared the load, so it was a bit of both of

528

16:57 ,432 --> 00:16:57,593

Anja: them.

529

16:58 ,236 --> 00:16:59,160

Marc: That is very cool.

530

16:59 ,521 --> 00:17:01,184

Anja: Totally, and what's so cool about them as

531

17:01 ,244 --> 00:17:03,768

Anja: brothers is they're very different but they

532

17:03 ,849 --> 00:17:06,574

Anja: have the exact same viewpoints on pretty

533

17:06 ,594 --> 00:17:07,275

Anja: much everything.

534

17:07 ,822 --> 00:17:10,355

Anja: So it was basically like Peter was there

535

17:10 ,456 --> 00:17:12,405

Anja: when Bobby was there, so I think that's why

536

17:12 ,445 --> 00:17:13,670

Anja: the show feels very cohesive.

537

17:14 ,441 --> 00:17:14,922

Marc: Yeah, it does.

538

17:15 ,003 --> 00:17:16,928

Marc: It does because you know, working in TV,

539

17:16 ,948 --> 00:17:19,282

Marc: you have a different director every Episode

540

17:19 ,302 --> 00:17:19,904

Marc: a lot of times.

541

17:19 ,924 --> 00:17:21,930

Anja: Yeah, exactly, so that's kind of a gift to

542

17:21 ,950 --> 00:17:24,398

Anja: have the same guy every, every episode.

543

17:24 ,558 --> 00:17:25,180

Anja: Yeah, that's nice.

544

17:25 ,984 --> 00:17:26,869

Marc: What I'm curious about that.

545

17:26 ,909 --> 00:17:27,894

Marc: That's a great ensemble.

546

17:27 ,934 --> 00:17:28,397

Marc: It's fun.

547

17:28 ,457 --> 00:17:28,960

Marc: I enjoy it.

548

17:29 ,120 --> 00:17:30,845

Marc: I mean I'm glad I'm only a season and a

549

17:30 ,885 --> 00:17:32,530

Marc: half in because I still got more to enjoy

550

17:32 ,590 --> 00:17:33,212

Marc: for the first time.

551

17:33 ,902 --> 00:17:37,166

Marc: But Ricky's Stanicki is that how these are?

552

17:37 ,206 --> 00:17:38,308

Marc: Stanick Stanicki, right?

553

17:38 ,509 --> 00:17:39,271

Anja: Ricky Stanicki.

554

17:39 ,311 --> 00:17:42,363

Marc: Yeah, that's another Real interesting

555

17:42 ,443 --> 00:17:42,944

Marc: ensemble.

556

17:43 ,125 --> 00:17:45,010

Marc: How did that project kind of materialize

557

17:45 ,090 --> 00:17:45,391

Marc: for you?

558

17:45 ,712 --> 00:17:48,766

Anja: Yeah, well, I know they've been trying to

559

17:48 ,786 --> 00:17:51,896

Anja: make that movie for like ten years and they

560

17:51 ,916 --> 00:17:53,200

Anja: had a lot of different people attached.

561

17:53 ,541 --> 00:17:55,507

Anja: I think Jim Carrey at one point was meant

562

17:55 ,527 --> 00:17:58,623

Anja: to play Ricky Stanicki and then I guess

563

17:58 ,683 --> 00:18:00,508

Anja: finally the funding came through and they

564

18:00 ,528 --> 00:18:01,651

Anja: were able to make it.

565

18:01 ,752 --> 00:18:04,603

Anja: And yeah, it came through.

566

18:04 ,643 --> 00:18:06,869

Anja: I mean, I've known Peter for so long now,

567

18:07 ,169 --> 00:18:09,885

Anja: with working on ladder milk, and I've

568

18:09 ,925 --> 00:18:11,538

Anja: auditioned for some of his other projects

569

18:11 ,598 --> 00:18:14,289

Anja: as well, and this one just kind of felt

570

18:14 ,309 --> 00:18:16,237

Anja: like the right fit and it was also really

571

18:16 ,257 --> 00:18:17,120

Anja: exciting opportunity.

572

18:17 Filming “Ricky Stanicky” in Melbourne, Australia

18:17 ,382 --> 00:18:19,336

Anja: We shot this in Australia, in Melbourne.

573

18:19 ,497 --> 00:18:21,164

Marc: Oh, really so it was.

574

18:21 ,906 --> 00:18:25,944

Anja: Yeah, that was a really Cool aspect of the

575

18:25 ,984 --> 00:18:26,406

Anja: project.

576

18:26 ,466 --> 00:18:29,082

Anja: I had never been there, and Traveling for

577

18:29 ,122 --> 00:18:30,948

Anja: work is always fun, especially for a movie

578

18:30 ,968 --> 00:18:33,062

Anja: where it's a shorter shoot, so it's not

579

18:33 ,082 --> 00:18:35,087

Anja: like you're there for a whole year or, you

580

18:35 ,127 --> 00:18:36,410

Anja: know, six months or something.

581

18:37 ,132 --> 00:18:40,066

Anja: So that really drew me in as well.

582

18:40 ,689 --> 00:18:43,090

Anja: So, yeah, I really enjoyed it.

583

18:43 ,110 --> 00:18:44,277

Anja: It was a great ensemble.

584

18:44 ,418 --> 00:18:47,025

Anja: There is Lots of time to bond.

585

18:47 ,446 --> 00:18:50,192

Anja: No one could leave because it's so far away

586

18:50 ,352 --> 00:18:51,274

Anja: from anything.

587

18:52 ,062 --> 00:18:54,191

Anja: So on the weekends we all got to hang out

588

18:54 ,292 --> 00:18:56,321

Anja: and, you know, get to know each other, and

589

18:56 ,361 --> 00:18:57,926

Anja: I think that made it really special.

590

18:58 ,006 --> 00:18:59,470

Marc: Yeah, my daughter is doing her gap year

591

18:59 ,511 --> 00:19:01,649

Marc: between she graduated early from high

592

19:01 ,690 --> 00:19:03,199

Marc: school and she's gonna go to college in the

593

19:03 ,239 --> 00:19:03,380

Marc: fall.

594

19:03 ,580 --> 00:19:05,085

Marc: But she's doing her gap year and just kind

595

19:05 ,105 --> 00:19:05,686

Marc: of hanging out with me.

596

19:05 ,747 --> 00:19:07,492

Marc: I said, you know, I've always wanted to do

597

19:09 ,763 --> 00:19:11,677

Marc: Like a kind of be an expat for like a year

598

19:11 ,717 --> 00:19:14,367

Marc: or two and Melbourne's the destination

599

19:14 ,407 --> 00:19:14,949

Marc: where I want to go.

600

19:14 ,989 --> 00:19:15,511

Marc: I just didn't.

601

19:15 ,752 --> 00:19:18,180

Marc: It was to go down there without having yet

602

19:18 ,280 --> 00:19:19,428

Marc: it was just, you know, me being

603

19:19 ,488 --> 00:19:20,515

Marc: self-employed, it was.

604

19:20 ,918 --> 00:19:21,240

Marc: It was there.

605

19:21 ,260 --> 00:19:22,865

Marc: Well, it was just a little bit too much

606

19:22 ,945 --> 00:19:24,711

Marc: stuff to get put together to make it happen.

607

19:25 ,241 --> 00:19:27,189

Marc: There's also a cost factor of shipping

608

19:27 ,249 --> 00:19:28,434

Marc: everything because I've got a recording

609

19:28 ,474 --> 00:19:28,795

Marc: studio.

610

19:28 ,815 --> 00:19:30,020

Marc: I've got to get it all down to Australia.

611

19:30 ,100 --> 00:19:31,925

Marc: Yeah you said I said let's just go next to

612

19:31 ,945 --> 00:19:32,245

Marc: the beach.

613

19:32 ,305 --> 00:19:35,092

Marc: But but Melbourne, and that that's kind of

614

19:35 ,333 --> 00:19:38,148

Marc: a I want to say is it?

615

19:38 ,168 --> 00:19:40,218

Marc: My rent says kind of artsy, not artsy, but

616

19:40 ,258 --> 00:19:43,909

Marc: it's sort of it's, it's definitely.

617

19:44 ,229 --> 00:19:48,164

Marc: I kind of liken it to the arts are part of

618

19:48 ,184 --> 00:19:49,768

Marc: the ecosystem, is that right?

619

19:49 ,908 --> 00:19:50,811

Anja: totally it's.

620

19:50 ,911 --> 00:19:52,375

Anja: It's a very bustling city.

621

19:52 ,816 --> 00:19:54,040

Anja: People are super social.

622

19:54 ,502 --> 00:19:55,811

Anja: There's lots of art everywhere.

623

19:55 ,931 --> 00:19:57,320

Anja: The architecture is amazing.

624

19:57 ,481 --> 00:19:59,340

Anja: They have like a lot of old and new things,

625

19:59 ,601 --> 00:20:01,887

Anja: but everything really melds nicely and I

626

20:01 ,907 --> 00:20:03,130

Anja: think we all fell in love with it.

627

20:03 ,170 --> 00:20:05,005

Anja: When we were there, everyone had a moment

628

20:05 ,025 --> 00:20:06,612

Anja: where they were kind of like damn, like I'd

629

20:06 ,652 --> 00:20:08,480

Anja: love to live here, it's just so far away,

630

20:09 ,824 --> 00:20:11,169

Anja: so far away from everything.

631

20:11 ,309 --> 00:20:14,107

Anja: But um, yeah, I don't know, maybe Australia

632

20:14 ,167 --> 00:20:15,071

Anja: is a little underrated.

633

20:15 ,392 --> 00:20:16,736

Marc: Maybe Australians like that, so not

634

20:16 ,777 --> 00:20:17,720

Marc: everybody comes down there.

635

20:18 ,723 --> 00:20:19,706

Anja: I think they might.

636

20:20 ,006 --> 00:20:22,703

Anja: Yeah, I mean, the only thing I could Think

637

20:22 ,743 --> 00:20:24,311

Anja: about when I thought of Australia was all

638

20:24 ,331 --> 00:20:26,180

Anja: the spiders and snakes and all that stuff.

639

20:26 ,301 --> 00:20:29,217

Anja: But honestly, being in a city, that's not

640

20:29 ,257 --> 00:20:32,825

Anja: really as as big of a deal, so I didn't

641

20:32 ,865 --> 00:20:34,068

Anja: really worry about that I.

642

20:40 ,941 --> 00:20:42,672

Marc: Forgot that Peter Fairley directed that as

643

20:42 ,752 --> 00:20:42,994

Marc: well.

644

20:43 ,034 --> 00:20:44,322

Marc: So you must have been kind of nice, you're

645

20:44 ,342 --> 00:20:46,474

Marc: like yes, uh, you know we're old friends,

646

20:46 ,555 --> 00:20:47,460

Marc: you know you had that shorthand.

647

20:47 ,882 --> 00:20:50,134

Marc: You know, you know that was part of my

648

20:50 ,174 --> 00:20:51,581

Marc: ignorance on the timeline here, but you

649

20:51 ,601 --> 00:20:53,651

Marc: were already doing louder milk before they

650

20:53 ,691 --> 00:20:54,334

Marc: went into production.

651

20:54 ,394 --> 00:20:55,540

Marc: On Ricky Stenicke, correct?

652

20:55 ,680 --> 00:20:56,302

Anja: Totally.

653

20:56 ,382 --> 00:20:58,005

Anja: We had already wrapped louder milk.

654

20:58 ,166 --> 00:21:00,130

Anja: Yeah, it had been a couple years since we

655

21:00 ,150 --> 00:21:05,044

Anja: had finished our last season and, yeah, he

656

21:05 ,324 --> 00:21:08,403

Anja: called me and I got that part and Got to

657

21:08 ,443 --> 00:21:10,009

Anja: see him again and it was just.

658

21:10 ,672 --> 00:21:12,359

Anja: It just felt right away like old times.

659

21:12 ,419 --> 00:21:14,304

Anja: You know, he is such a friendly guy and

660

21:14 ,364 --> 00:21:15,827

Anja: he's so easy to get along with and

661

21:15 ,867 --> 00:21:18,172

Anja: collaborate with and what's so cool is he's

662

21:18 ,192 --> 00:21:20,405

Anja: also a really Loyal person.

663

21:20 ,687 --> 00:21:22,374

Anja: If he likes you and he likes working with

664

21:22 ,394 --> 00:21:23,580

Anja: you, he wants to work with you again.

665

21:24 ,323 --> 00:21:26,653

Anja: So it was just nice to be back and feel so

666

21:26 ,713 --> 00:21:27,235

Anja: welcomed.

667

21:27 ,336 --> 00:21:30,194

Anja: And you know, I came in a week after they'd

668

21:30 ,214 --> 00:21:31,683

Anja: already started shooting, but everyone

669

21:31 ,703 --> 00:21:33,370

Anja: already knew who I was because he'd already

670

21:33 ,772 --> 00:21:35,499

Anja: told them that I was coming and that you

671

21:35 ,520 --> 00:21:36,944

Anja: know I was great and all this stuff and I

672

21:36 ,964 --> 00:21:38,630

Anja: was like, oh, my god, it's so sweet.

673

21:38 ,790 --> 00:21:42,007

Anja: So, yeah, it was just a lovely shoot and I

674

21:42 ,027 --> 00:21:42,749

Anja: love working with him.

675

21:42 ,841 --> 00:21:44,294

Marc: He's a I'm curious how they ended up in

676

21:44 ,335 --> 00:21:46,283

Marc: Australia, though, was it was without

677

21:46 ,323 --> 00:21:47,125

Marc: giving anything away.

678

21:47 ,185 --> 00:21:49,409

Marc: Was Australia part of the story, or it just

679

21:49 ,449 --> 00:21:50,832

Marc: happened to be that that was a location

680

21:50 ,852 --> 00:21:51,494

Marc: that worked for?

681

21:51 ,901 --> 00:21:53,926

Anja: It has absolutely nothing to do with the

682

21:53 ,966 --> 00:21:54,367

Anja: story.

683

21:54 ,768 --> 00:21:57,300

Anja: I think it was a tax break situation, I

684

21:57 ,321 --> 00:21:58,645

Anja: think it was just cheaper to shoot there

685

21:58 ,765 --> 00:22:01,861

Anja: and I think also people wanted to Be

686

22:01 ,921 --> 00:22:05,008

Anja: somewhere where it was sunny and and nice

687

22:05 ,149 --> 00:22:08,401

Anja: and it was summertime in Australia, so you

688

22:08 ,421 --> 00:22:10,467

Anja: know, we got to enjoy that and well, it was

689

22:10 ,527 --> 00:22:12,592

Anja: a summer for them, or was it summer?

690

22:14 ,322 --> 00:22:15,345

Anja: It was summer in Australia.

691

22:15 ,525 --> 00:22:17,230

Marc: Okay, so it'd be winter for us, that thing

692

22:17 ,270 --> 00:22:18,843

Marc: always kind of yeah, they talk about

693

22:18 ,863 --> 00:22:20,467

Marc: Christmas down there being warm.

694

22:20 ,948 --> 00:22:22,793

Anja: I know I can't imagine.

695

22:23 ,661 --> 00:22:25,687

Marc: But John Cena he plays Ricky Stanicky

696

22:25 ,727 --> 00:22:27,352

Marc: correct and that's right.

697

22:27 ,412 --> 00:22:29,558

Marc: Yes, he does yeah and I was looking at

698

22:29 ,578 --> 00:22:30,722

Marc: Jermaine Fowler's and this.

699

22:30 ,742 --> 00:22:32,066

Marc: I had a chance to chat with him just a few

700

22:32 ,086 --> 00:22:35,903

Marc: weeks ago actually, so Such a cool dude,

701

22:36 ,325 --> 00:22:37,007

Marc: very cool dude.

702

22:37 ,207 --> 00:22:38,110

Anja: He's a great guy.

703

22:38 ,331 --> 00:22:39,133

Anja: Yeah, he's great guy.

704

22:39 ,174 --> 00:22:40,076

Anja: Super funny too.

705

22:40 ,337 --> 00:22:42,203

Marc: Just awesome Can we say how long were you

706

22:42 ,223 --> 00:22:44,751

Marc: down in down in Australia for in total?

707

22:45 ,181 --> 00:22:47,208

Anja: So I think for me it was about five weeks,

708

22:49 ,281 --> 00:22:51,648

Anja: yeah, and I really enjoyed it.

709

22:51 ,688 --> 00:22:53,433

Anja: I loved working with everyone in the cast.

710

22:54 ,845 --> 00:22:57,725

Anja: In the movie I play Andrew Santino's wife

711

22:58 ,408 --> 00:23:01,330

Anja: and I'm like heavily pregnant in it and he

712

23:01 ,390 --> 00:23:04,582

Anja: misses the birth of the baby and that's

713

23:04 ,622 --> 00:23:06,629

Anja: kind of when they start realizing that they

714

23:06 ,669 --> 00:23:08,214

Anja: need to bring in Ricky Stanicky so that

715

23:08 ,234 --> 00:23:09,919

Anja: they can prove that they have this friend

716

23:09 ,940 --> 00:23:13,569

Anja: and yeah, I mean that was all really fun.

717

23:13 ,629 --> 00:23:16,562

Anja: Just the unraveling of the story is a you

718

23:16 ,602 --> 00:23:16,883

Anja: know what.

719

23:16 ,943 --> 00:23:19,642

Anja: It reminds me a lot of like the more 2000s,

720

23:20 ,023 --> 00:23:22,831

Anja: older, fairly brother stuff where it's kind

721

23:22 ,851 --> 00:23:25,258

Anja: of a simple premise and the fun is in the

722

23:25 ,298 --> 00:23:25,960

Anja: silliness of it.

723

23:26 ,481 --> 00:23:28,928

Marc: Yeah, the situation just gets progressively

724

23:28 ,988 --> 00:23:30,432

Marc: more absurd as they go along.

725

23:30 ,472 --> 00:23:30,672

Marc: Yeah.

726

23:31 ,360 --> 00:23:33,232

Anja: Exactly, and I feel like that kind of

727

23:33 ,273 --> 00:23:34,380

Anja: comedy is missing now.

728

23:34 ,400 --> 00:23:35,302

Anja: You know everything.

729

23:35 ,432 --> 00:23:37,875

Anja: I feel like comedy now is just wrapped into

730

23:38 ,005 --> 00:23:39,900

Anja: every genre instead of just being

731

23:40 ,030 --> 00:23:41,011

Anja: standalone, and I like that.

732

23:41 ,031 --> 00:23:43,274

Anja: This is just a standalone, funny, silly

733

23:43 ,334 --> 00:23:43,694

Anja: story.

734

23:43 ,734 --> 00:23:44,595

Anja: You can relax too.

735

23:44 ,655 --> 00:23:45,857

Marc: You know, thank you for saying that.

736

23:47 ,121 --> 00:23:48,644

Marc: Yeah, my daughter and I were going through

737

23:49 ,145 --> 00:23:50,588

Marc: trying to find on the different streamers,

738

23:50 ,829 --> 00:23:53,134

Marc: trying to find just a comedy like circa

739

23:53 ,761 --> 00:23:55,447

Marc: late 90s, maybe you know, like a good

740

23:55 ,487 --> 00:23:58,185

Marc: example is Judd Apatow.

741

23:58 ,346 --> 00:24:00,435

Marc: Anything he did, it was just you kind of

742

24:00 ,475 --> 00:24:01,560

Marc: buying the absurdity of it.

743

24:01 ,600 --> 00:24:03,128

Marc: It's just kind of fun, like a no matter

744

24:03 ,148 --> 00:24:05,139

Marc: something like that but there aren't really

745

24:05 ,179 --> 00:24:05,280

Marc: there.

746

24:05 ,380 --> 00:24:07,005

Marc: You're right, there seems to be and this is

747

24:07 ,045 --> 00:24:08,589

Marc: maybe just my opinion just a kind of a

748

24:08 ,629 --> 00:24:11,764

Marc: shortage of good fun, quasi-goofy comedies

749

24:11 ,784 --> 00:24:13,368

Marc: that you can kind of disappear for a couple

750

24:13 ,428 --> 00:24:13,669

Marc: hours.

751

24:13 ,729 --> 00:24:15,172

Marc: You know, this is kind of my thing.

752

24:15 ,800 --> 00:24:18,025

Anja: Absolutely something you can just have on.

753

24:18 ,085 --> 00:24:19,949

Anja: You can again, you can turn on again and

754

24:19 ,989 --> 00:24:22,173

Anja: again, and again and just rewatch and laugh

755

24:22 ,334 --> 00:24:22,434

Anja: at.

756

24:22 ,921 --> 00:24:24,544

Anja: So I think that'll be this and I really

757

24:24 ,584 --> 00:24:26,909

Anja: hope it's it does well and people enjoy it

758

24:26 ,969 --> 00:24:29,634

Anja: because it's yeah, it's silly and fun and,

759

24:30 ,948 --> 00:24:31,652

Anja: yeah, I love it.

760

24:32 ,356 --> 00:24:34,767

Marc: I forgot to ask you we do your parents and

761

24:34 ,787 --> 00:24:36,815

Marc: the arts at all, or they in any kind of

762

24:36 ,855 --> 00:24:38,080

Marc: performance or anything like that.

763

24:38 ,341 --> 00:24:40,909

Anja: No, no, my parents were never really into

764

24:40 ,929 --> 00:24:41,411

Anja: the arts.

765

24:43 ,081 --> 00:24:46,510

Anja: My grandma had like a brother that was a

766

24:46 ,590 --> 00:24:50,003

Anja: playwright and Theater director, and so she

767

24:50 ,043 --> 00:24:51,827

Anja: always says that, oh, you pulled from this

768

24:52 ,108 --> 00:24:54,092

Anja: brother I had, you know, but no one else in

769

24:54 ,112 --> 00:24:56,486

Anja: my family is Really about artsy.

770

24:56 ,506 --> 00:24:58,176

Anja: I think I have like a distant uncle that's

771

24:58 ,257 --> 00:25:01,209

Anja: a painter, but that's kind of where it ends.

772

25:02 ,581 --> 00:25:03,143

Anja: So, yeah, I don't.

773

25:03 ,163 --> 00:25:04,246

Anja: I don't know where it came from.

774

25:04 ,367 --> 00:25:05,570

Marc: Well, it's good that you kind of have that

775

25:05 ,610 --> 00:25:05,751

Marc: thing.

776

25:05 ,800 --> 00:25:07,956

Marc: It's your own thing, but also a lot of

777

25:07 ,976 --> 00:25:08,540

Marc: folks don't get it.

778

25:09 ,041 --> 00:25:11,205

Marc: You know, we're your parents down with it,

779

25:11 ,246 --> 00:25:13,791

Marc: like were they saying really acting, or

780

25:13 ,811 --> 00:25:15,214

Marc: were they like, hey, go for it.

781

25:15 ,421 --> 00:25:16,846

Marc: You know, did they have an opinion either

782

25:16 ,866 --> 00:25:17,047

Marc: way?

783

25:18 ,748 --> 00:25:18,971

Anja: It was.

784

25:19 ,012 --> 00:25:19,539

Anja: It was tricky.

785

25:19 ,680 --> 00:25:22,814

Anja: I think they were excited for me because I

786

25:22 ,895 --> 00:25:23,720

Anja: knew what I enjoyed.

787

25:24 ,422 --> 00:25:26,048

Anja: But at the same time they were worried that,

788

25:26 ,088 --> 00:25:28,135

Anja: you know, I wasn't gonna make enough money

789

25:28 ,196 --> 00:25:29,420

Anja: and I wouldn't be able to make a living.

790

25:29 ,681 --> 00:25:31,425

Anja: And of course I think that's every parent's

791

25:31 ,525 --> 00:25:34,293

Anja: fear, that you know you can't hold your own.

792

25:35 ,003 --> 00:25:36,918

Anja: But um, you know, I went to school, I went

793

25:36 ,938 --> 00:25:38,763

Anja: to university, I studied English and

794

25:38 ,823 --> 00:25:40,707

Anja: business and I thought, you know, one day

795

25:40 ,748 --> 00:25:43,513

Anja: I'll get a more regular office type job.

796

25:43 ,594 --> 00:25:45,980

Anja: And After I finished school I thought, okay,

797

25:46 ,181 --> 00:25:48,068

Anja: I'll do acting for another year and I'll

798

25:48 ,088 --> 00:25:48,811

Anja: see what happens.

799

25:49 ,112 --> 00:25:50,960

Anja: And then, you know, if it's not working out,

800

25:51 ,161 --> 00:25:52,607

Anja: I'll maybe find some other ways.

801

25:53 ,411 --> 00:25:55,380

Anja: And I booked ladder milk.

802

25:55 ,801 --> 00:25:58,346

Anja: So from there I kind of just kept going and

803

25:59 ,308 --> 00:26:01,533

Anja: I haven't jumped to the plan B yet.

804

26:01 ,793 --> 00:26:04,906

Marc: So Hopefully never well, they said what

805

26:04 ,926 --> 00:26:06,471

Marc: I've heard to talk to so many people that

806

26:06 ,511 --> 00:26:09,088

Marc: said Something to the effect of if you can

807

26:09 ,128 --> 00:26:11,277

Marc: see yourself doing anything else, you know

808

26:11 ,458 --> 00:26:11,960

Marc: realistically.

809

26:12 ,201 --> 00:26:13,646

Marc: Yeah, it's probably it for you, and I think

810

26:13 ,666 --> 00:26:16,784

Marc: that's a lot of the folks who Do this.

811

26:17 ,006 --> 00:26:18,534

Marc: It's, this is in their DNA.

812

26:18 ,695 --> 00:26:19,339

Marc: They got to do it.

813

26:19 ,439 --> 00:26:21,157

Marc: Yeah, yeah you found something you're

814

26:21 ,291 --> 00:26:22,749

Marc: passionate about and I love.

815

26:22 ,883 --> 00:26:23,945

Marc: You know ladder milk.

816

26:24 ,079 --> 00:26:26,507

Marc: For me was was a pleasant surprise.

817

26:26 ,507 --> 00:26:28,251

Marc: I did not know is one of those things you

818

26:28 ,271 --> 00:26:28,652

Marc: walk into.

819

26:28 ,672 --> 00:26:31,643

Marc: I have no idea About anything, what to

820

26:31 ,683 --> 00:26:34,731

Marc: expect, but of course being in recovery is

821

26:34 ,791 --> 00:26:38,246

Marc: a big, big thing, naturally, in this did

822

26:38 ,466 --> 00:26:41,313

Marc: did you do any preparation for that by

823

26:42 ,741 --> 00:26:44,305

Marc: Going and attending any meetings?

824

26:44 ,687 --> 00:26:47,074

Marc: How did you prepare for to play this

825

26:47 ,114 --> 00:26:47,435

Marc: character?

826

26:47 ,595 --> 00:26:49,160

Anja: Yeah, I did a lot of research.

827

26:49 ,666 --> 00:26:52,945

Anja: I, first of all, I have people in my life

828

26:53 ,045 --> 00:26:55,271

Anja: that have dealt with substance abuse in

829

26:55 ,291 --> 00:26:58,124

Anja: different ways, so Talking to them was

830

26:58 ,485 --> 00:27:00,311

Anja: probably the most eye-opening and

831

27:02 ,040 --> 00:27:03,143

Anja: Interesting way to learn.

832

27:03 ,745 --> 00:27:07,054

Anja: And then I watched a lot of stuff on

833

27:07 ,134 --> 00:27:09,019

Anja: YouTube that I found there was like some

834

27:09 ,039 --> 00:27:11,086

Anja: very interesting Docs about addiction.

835

27:11 ,126 --> 00:27:14,866

Anja: I mean, even just watching what's that?

836

27:14 ,926 --> 00:27:15,711

Anja: What's that show?

837

27:16 ,034 --> 00:27:19,104

Anja: The really popular one when people are

838

27:19 ,144 --> 00:27:19,985

Anja: trying to get off drugs?

839

27:20 ,747 --> 00:27:22,570

Marc: Oh, is it like a reality show or yes?

840

27:22 ,971 --> 00:27:25,175

Anja: Yes, yes, yes, it's very dark.

841

27:26 ,301 --> 00:27:30,550

Anja: Anyway, I watched a bunch of that and I'm I

842

27:30 ,590 --> 00:27:34,363

Anja: just sort of tried to Put myself in her

843

27:34 ,403 --> 00:27:36,008

Anja: shoes, just reading through, reading the

844

27:36 ,048 --> 00:27:39,546

Anja: script and, and you know, being on set and

845

27:39 ,686 --> 00:27:42,844

Anja: asking questions and that kind of thing.

846

27:43 ,367 --> 00:27:46,826

Anja: So, yeah, I think there's all kinds of ways

847

27:46 ,966 --> 00:27:49,931

Anja: to to find your character and, especially

848

27:49 ,951 --> 00:27:51,313

Anja: with a topic this difficult, I think

849

27:52 ,020 --> 00:27:54,010

Anja: Addictions are also prevalent in other

850

27:54 ,171 --> 00:27:55,337

Anja: aspects of life too.

851

27:55 ,438 --> 00:27:58,944

Anja: Like, for me it's not so much substances,

852

27:59 ,064 --> 00:28:01,308

Anja: but you know there's other things that

853

28:02 ,591 --> 00:28:05,036

Anja: maybe we deal with, that you know, repeated

854

28:05 ,056 --> 00:28:06,826

Anja: behaviors or whatever that we're trying to

855

28:06 ,866 --> 00:28:08,831

Anja: curb, and it's like I get it.

856

28:09 ,111 --> 00:28:12,786

Anja: So that was a really interesting aspect of

857

28:12 ,926 --> 00:28:14,691

Anja: the show and I'm so glad that so many

858

28:14 ,711 --> 00:28:17,097

Anja: people connected to it, because obviously

859

28:17 ,157 --> 00:28:19,471

Anja: it's a big, a big point, yeah, and I think

860

28:19 ,491 --> 00:28:20,497

Anja: it was handled very well.

861

28:20 ,578 --> 00:28:21,765

Marc: I don't think it was meant that it was

862

28:21 Reflections on Personal Growth and Influence

28:21 ,845 --> 00:28:24,070

Marc: meant to be cuted up.

863

28:24 ,171 --> 00:28:24,572

Marc: Is that a word?

864

28:24 ,612 --> 00:28:26,015

Marc: I don't know In any way.

865

28:26 ,035 --> 00:28:27,566

Marc: I mean there was some humor that was in

866

28:27 ,606 --> 00:28:28,810

Marc: there, but I like kind of like you, you had

867

28:28 ,890 --> 00:28:29,592

Marc: people in your life.

868

28:29 ,672 --> 00:28:31,427

Marc: Now, I didn't have anybody that I was, that

869

28:31 ,447 --> 00:28:33,873

Marc: I was aware of, necessarily in my life, but

870

28:34 ,093 --> 00:28:36,238

Marc: I came up as a young kid, starting at 17.

871

28:36 ,345 --> 00:28:39,979

Marc: I started working in radio and so I liked

872

28:40 ,019 --> 00:28:41,404

Marc: hanging out with the guys and Gray Harry.

873

28:41 ,424 --> 00:28:43,111

Marc: Now they had really good stories about the

874

28:43 ,151 --> 00:28:46,102

Marc: other days way back when but a lot of that

875

28:46 ,563 --> 00:28:48,288

Marc: some aspect of recovery was part of their

876

28:48 ,388 --> 00:28:48,689

Marc: life.

877

28:48 ,910 --> 00:28:50,975

Marc: So I had a chance to kind of see them after

878

28:51 ,035 --> 00:28:52,057

Marc: the storm, as it were.

879

28:52 ,326 --> 00:28:54,396

Marc: You know, and then the young guys I was

880

28:54 ,436 --> 00:28:55,903

Marc: coming up with, some of them were going a

881

28:55 ,943 --> 00:28:56,746

Marc: little off the rail.

882

28:56 ,786 --> 00:28:59,031

Marc: So it's kind of seeing an A B comparison,

883

28:59 ,132 --> 00:28:59,573

Marc: if you will.

884

28:59 ,613 --> 00:29:00,615

Marc: You know before and after.

885

29:01 ,257 --> 00:29:02,648

Marc: And I just got to the point.

886

29:02 ,668 --> 00:29:04,675

Marc: I was like you know what I'm seeing, kind

887

29:04 ,695 --> 00:29:06,326

Marc: of weird things could go and I'm just not

888

29:06 ,346 --> 00:29:06,988

Marc: going to go do that.

889

29:07 ,589 --> 00:29:10,075

Marc: But I do think it does call upon you to say

890

29:10 ,256 --> 00:29:11,906

Marc: how much of this is just built into your

891

29:11 ,947 --> 00:29:12,949

Marc: DNA, you know?

892

29:12 ,989 --> 00:29:15,013

Marc: You know which some people it is, you know

893

29:15 ,414 --> 00:29:16,296

Marc: absolutely.

894

29:16 ,617 --> 00:29:17,018

Marc: So are you?

895

29:17 ,426 --> 00:29:19,034

Marc: Are you working on anything right now?

896

29:19 ,215 --> 00:29:20,762

Marc: Are you kind of taking a little break or

897

29:21 ,003 --> 00:29:22,046

Marc: what you have going?

898

29:22 ,106 --> 00:29:22,587

Anja: on.

899

29:23 ,108 --> 00:29:24,350

Anja: I'm on a little break right now.

900

29:25 ,793 --> 00:29:28,678

Anja: I just worked on recently a show called

901

29:28 ,718 --> 00:29:32,051

Anja: Tracker that's coming out in a couple days

902

29:32 ,713 --> 00:29:33,455

Anja: and that was really fun.

903

29:33 ,495 --> 00:29:35,986

Anja: Just a little guest star on that and yeah,

904

29:36 ,006 --> 00:29:38,151

Anja: just things in the works but not solidified

905

29:38 ,191 --> 00:29:40,016

Anja: yet so can't talk about them.

906

29:40 Creative Pursuits and Travel Adventures

29:40 ,116 --> 00:29:41,849

Marc: But Well, how are you spending your time,

907

29:41 ,889 --> 00:29:42,069

Marc: though?

908

29:42 ,090 --> 00:29:43,414

Marc: I mean, what now that, now that you don't

909

29:43 ,454 --> 00:29:45,050

Marc: have schedules to be on?

910

29:45 ,170 --> 00:29:47,119

Marc: Is it just relaxation, or do you have

911

29:47 ,139 --> 00:29:47,480

Marc: things like?

912

29:47 ,541 --> 00:29:48,786

Marc: I've been meaning to do this thing?

913

29:49 ,670 --> 00:29:51,236

Anja: Totally Well, I'm working on a lot of

914

29:51 ,256 --> 00:29:51,638

Anja: writing.

915

29:51 ,818 --> 00:29:53,525

Anja: I have a writing partner, my friend Taylor

916

29:53 ,665 --> 00:29:53,906

Anja: Hill.

917

29:54 ,528 --> 00:29:56,413

Anja: Her and I write together and we're working

918

29:56 ,474 --> 00:30:00,144

Anja: on a comedy like a two best friend, two

919

30:00 ,165 --> 00:30:02,415

Anja: female best friends, parallel world type of

920

30:02 ,435 --> 00:30:02,756

Anja: thing.

921

30:02 ,817 --> 00:30:04,284

Anja: So we're working on that and hopefully

922

30:04 ,304 --> 00:30:05,167

Anja: trying to get that made.

923

30:06 ,752 --> 00:30:09,120

Anja: And other than that, you know, auditions

924

30:09 ,180 --> 00:30:12,488

Anja: here and there, some meetings and lots of

925

30:12 ,508 --> 00:30:13,650

Anja: getting outside in nature.

926

30:14 ,372 --> 00:30:17,577

Anja: Recently I moved to a little more like of a

927

30:17 ,697 --> 00:30:21,554

Anja: forested area in BC, near in Vancouver, and

928

30:21 ,694 --> 00:30:23,199

Anja: I'm just kind of getting outside and

929

30:23 ,239 --> 00:30:25,447

Anja: enjoying the nature and kind of getting

930

30:27 ,273 --> 00:30:28,416

Anja: getting more into the rain.

931

30:28 ,757 --> 00:30:29,600

Anja: It rains here a lot.

932

30:29 ,640 --> 00:30:31,306

Anja: It's the Pacific Northwest, so it's like

933

30:31 ,486 --> 00:30:34,794

Anja: constantly a downpour and I'm just I think

934

30:34 ,854 --> 00:30:39,064

Anja: I'm finally really enjoying the the, the

935

30:39 ,104 --> 00:30:41,170

Anja: rain and all the greenery that it causes.

936

30:42 ,513 --> 00:30:44,138

Anja: I've also really been enjoying traveling.

937

30:44 ,338 --> 00:30:47,929

Anja: So my partner and I we went to Europe and

938

30:48 ,892 --> 00:30:50,838

Anja: traveled around there, visited my family in

939

30:50 ,858 --> 00:30:53,607

Anja: Bosnia, which was super fun and like

940

30:53 ,748 --> 00:30:55,857

Anja: interesting to have him yeah, to have him

941

30:55 ,938 --> 00:30:57,605

Anja: integrated into, like my family, my grandma.

942

30:57 ,745 --> 00:30:59,370

Marc: So you still have a good connection to

943

30:59 ,771 --> 00:31:01,796

Marc: Bosnia and you have a lot of family that

944

31:01 ,816 --> 00:31:02,237

Marc: was left there.

945

31:02 ,546 --> 00:31:04,233

Anja: I do, yeah, I think when you left.

946

31:04 ,293 --> 00:31:05,397

Marc: Wasn't that right about the?

947

31:05 ,939 --> 00:31:07,506

Marc: I mean, I'm not totally sure of the

948

31:07 ,827 --> 00:31:08,449

Marc: timeline.

949

31:09 ,052 --> 00:31:09,473

Marc: Yeah, it was.

950

31:09 ,815 --> 00:31:10,919

Marc: It was right when the war was starting,

951

31:10 ,939 --> 00:31:11,441

Marc: during the war.

952

31:11 ,561 --> 00:31:12,846

Anja: Yeah, that's right.

953

31:12 ,906 --> 00:31:15,772

Anja: Yeah, so I have a lot of family that stayed

954

31:16 ,153 --> 00:31:18,138

Anja: and I have a lot of family that left.

955

31:18 ,218 --> 00:31:20,269

Anja: There's, you know, I have family in Italy

956

31:20 ,430 --> 00:31:22,735

Anja: and in Germany and I think there's some

957

31:22 ,775 --> 00:31:26,233

Anja: people in Australia even, and it's, it's

958

31:26 ,273 --> 00:31:28,401

Anja: interesting, the diasporic community and

959

31:28 ,441 --> 00:31:29,364

Anja: then the people that stayed.

960

31:29 ,384 --> 00:31:32,295

Anja: There's like a real difference of culture,

961

31:32 ,516 --> 00:31:34,503

Anja: right, because the kids are growing up in

962

31:34 ,523 --> 00:31:35,085

Anja: different places.

963

31:35 ,947 --> 00:31:37,391

Marc: Now how old were you when you left again?

964

31:38 ,093 --> 00:31:39,797

Anja: I was three, so I was quite young.

965

31:40 ,425 --> 00:31:42,553

Marc: Do you have any echoes of memories of that

966

31:42 ,593 --> 00:31:43,034

Marc: time at all?

967

31:43 ,725 --> 00:31:45,048

Anja: Not really not much.

968

31:45 ,128 --> 00:31:47,794

Anja: I actually do remember being in Serbia and

969

31:48 ,015 --> 00:31:50,226

Anja: my grandpa taking me to a play I think it

970

31:50 ,266 --> 00:31:51,951

Anja: was a puppet show and I remember it really

971

31:52 ,031 --> 00:31:53,676

Anja: stuck in my head and then he bought me a

972

31:53 ,745 --> 00:31:56,634

Anja: book on like performances, like puppetry.

973

31:56 ,655 --> 00:31:56,775

Marc: Really.

974

31:57 ,517 --> 00:31:59,544

Anja: So yeah, and I think of that now and I'm

975

31:59 ,584 --> 00:32:02,089

Anja: like, wow, I think I was already drawn to,

976

32:02 ,791 --> 00:32:05,376

Anja: you know, this sort of entertainment

977

32:05 ,997 --> 00:32:06,959

Anja: performer world.

978

32:08 ,605 --> 00:32:10,951

Anja: But yeah, I really enjoyed going back to

979

32:10 ,971 --> 00:32:13,336

Anja: the Balkans and traveling through Croatia

980

32:13 ,396 --> 00:32:15,992

Anja: and Montenegro and Bosnia and I think that

981

32:16 ,153 --> 00:32:16,976

Anja: area of the world.

982

32:17 ,036 --> 00:32:18,944

Marc: Coastal, like Croatia, somewhere I would

983

32:19 ,004 --> 00:32:21,534

Marc: love to go, it's gorgeous.

984

32:21 ,634 --> 00:32:23,200

Marc: I mean, Anthony Bourdain was kind of my

985

32:23 ,261 --> 00:32:24,686

Marc: spirit animal and I remember him going to

986

32:24 ,706 --> 00:32:25,007

Marc: Croatia.

987

32:25 ,027 --> 00:32:25,950

Announcer: once I was like wow.

988

32:26 ,512 --> 00:32:26,934

Marc: That was like.

989

32:26 ,974 --> 00:32:28,600

Marc: That looks like the coastal.

990

32:28 ,640 --> 00:32:30,085

Marc: You know that episode.

991

32:30 ,226 --> 00:32:31,150

Marc: He actually fell over.

992

32:31 ,190 --> 00:32:32,516

Marc: He had too much wine to drink.

993

32:32 ,557 --> 00:32:34,325

Marc: It was a hilarious it was a great episode.

994

32:34 ,486 --> 00:32:36,153

Marc: But it was like I had no idea what a

995

32:36 ,294 --> 00:32:38,143

Marc: beautiful, beautiful place, because I guess

996

32:38 ,183 --> 00:32:39,971

Marc: it's framed in my mind from years ago of

997

32:40 ,011 --> 00:32:41,838

Marc: being a place where war was happening and

998

32:42 ,441 --> 00:32:43,706

Marc: I'm sure kids these days will look at

999

32:43 ,767 --> 00:32:45,896

Marc: Ukraine the same way you know, and oh God

Speaker:1000

32:45 ,916 --> 00:32:47,845

Marc: yeah as I was kind of putting some things

Speaker:1001

32:47 ,945 --> 00:32:49,071

Marc: together just doing I don't know.

Speaker:1002

32:49 ,794 --> 00:32:51,723

Marc: I don't like to overly research when I chat

Speaker:1003

32:51 ,743 --> 00:32:52,867

Marc: with somebody because I'm going to forget

Speaker:1004

32:52 ,887 --> 00:32:54,632

Marc: to ask you a question or something.

Speaker:1005

32:54 ,672 --> 00:32:56,506

Marc: But we looked at, I think, your Instagram

Speaker:1006

32:56 ,907 --> 00:33:00,032

Marc: and did you road trip through Texas by any

Speaker:1007

33:00 ,072 --> 00:33:00,293

Marc: chance?

Speaker:1008

33:01 ,915 --> 00:33:03,178

Anja: I did so.

Speaker:1009

33:03 ,258 --> 00:33:05,947

Anja: I worked on a show called yeah, I worked on

Speaker:1010

33:05 ,987 --> 00:33:09,375

Anja: a show called Big Sky and we filmed that in

Speaker:1011

33:09 ,495 --> 00:33:10,577

Anja: Albuquerque, new Mexico.

Speaker:1012

33:10 ,758 --> 00:33:16,771

Anja: So I lived there for about eight months and

Speaker:1013

33:17 ,432 --> 00:33:20,958

Anja: during the weekends my husband and I would

Speaker:1014

33:20 ,998 --> 00:33:21,640

Anja: travel around.

Speaker:1015

33:21 ,765 --> 00:33:24,595

Anja: So we went into Texas, we visited some of

Speaker:1016

33:24 ,615 --> 00:33:26,944

Anja: the national parks in New Mexico and New

Speaker:1017

33:26 ,984 --> 00:33:31,058

Anja: Mexico, by the way, so underrated I think A

Speaker:1018

33:31 ,118 --> 00:33:32,564

Anja: lot of people think when they think

Speaker:1019

33:32 ,624 --> 00:33:34,769

Anja: Albuquerque, they think Breaking Bad and

Speaker:1020

33:34 ,789 --> 00:33:37,595

Anja: that's like where they stop, you know, but

Speaker:1021

33:37 ,636 --> 00:33:40,430

Anja: there's such, it's such a cool landscape.

Speaker:1022

33:40 ,731 --> 00:33:44,322

Anja: And for me, I really love Westerns, so all

Speaker:1023

33:44 ,342 --> 00:33:46,668

Anja: I could think about was Cormac McCarthy and,

Speaker:1024

33:46 ,729 --> 00:33:51,019

Anja: like you know, people on horses and like

Speaker:1025

33:52 ,022 --> 00:33:53,285

Anja: just you're the second guest I've had that

Speaker:1026

33:53 ,425 --> 00:33:54,067

Anja: mentioned him.

Speaker:1027

33:54 ,850 --> 00:33:55,251

Anja: Oh really.

Speaker:1028

33:55 ,291 --> 00:33:58,060

Marc: Yeah, garrett Dillahunt mentioned him

Speaker:1029

33:58 ,201 --> 00:33:59,525

Marc: before as somebody that was either

Speaker:1030

33:59 ,645 --> 00:34:01,730

Marc: influential or you really liked, so I gotta

Speaker:1031

34:01 ,750 --> 00:34:03,334

Marc: go read or check out this stuff?

Speaker:1032

34:03 ,795 --> 00:34:04,757

Anja: Oh, you have to.

Speaker:1033

34:04 ,918 --> 00:34:06,513

Anja: Yeah, he's incredible.

Speaker:1034

34:06 ,601 --> 00:34:08,179

Anja: I'm gonna make a note here, yeah, you

Speaker:1035

34:08 ,267 --> 00:34:09,301

Anja: should you know, so funny.

Speaker:1036

34:09 ,389 --> 00:34:10,740

Marc: I'll speak with somebody like you got to

Speaker:1037

34:10 ,760 --> 00:34:11,943

Marc: read this book or you got to check this

Speaker:1038

34:11 ,983 --> 00:34:13,048

Marc: thing out, and I'm like oh, absolutely,

Speaker:1039

34:13 ,088 --> 00:34:14,858

Marc: I'll write it down and I'll misplace the

Speaker:1040

34:14 ,878 --> 00:34:15,100

Marc: paper.

Speaker:1041

34:15 ,140 --> 00:34:15,663

Marc: I wrote it on me.

Speaker:1042

34:15 ,783 --> 00:34:16,746

Anja: Are you into Westerns?

Speaker:1043

34:16 ,867 --> 00:34:19,572

Anja: Do you like sort of the Deserty vibes you

Speaker:1044

34:19 ,613 --> 00:34:19,733

Anja: know?

Speaker:1045

34:19 ,793 --> 00:34:22,358

Marc: I'm not necessarily a big, big Western

Speaker:1046

34:22 ,485 --> 00:34:24,974

Marc: person, but if there's a good story behind

Speaker:1047

34:25 ,035 --> 00:34:27,363

Marc: it, I find that I can like any genre.

Speaker:1048

34:27 ,524 --> 00:34:29,090

Marc: If there's good story, it's either well

Speaker:1049

34:29 ,190 --> 00:34:29,833

Marc: acted or there's.

Speaker:1050

34:30 ,135 --> 00:34:30,436

Marc: You can.

Speaker:1051

34:30 ,918 --> 00:34:32,384

Marc: If it's a book, you can disappear into it

Speaker:1052

34:32 ,424 --> 00:34:35,695

Marc: and you can kind of your your mind's eye

Speaker:1053

34:35 ,816 --> 00:34:37,561

Marc: can kind of see it, you know that makes

Speaker:1054

34:37 ,582 --> 00:34:38,244

Marc: sense, of course.

Speaker:1055

34:38 ,364 --> 00:34:39,107

Anja: I think you'll.

Speaker:1056

34:39 Discovering Westerns Through Good Storytelling (28 Seconds)

34:39 ,268 --> 00:34:41,116

Anja: You'll start to enjoy the genre more if you

Speaker:1057

34:41 ,176 --> 00:34:42,843

Anja: check them out, because I wasn't a big

Speaker:1058

34:42 ,884 --> 00:34:45,070

Anja: Western fan either, and then, once I

Speaker:1059

34:45 ,110 --> 00:34:47,416

Anja: started reading him, I definitely changed

Speaker:1060

34:47 ,436 --> 00:34:47,857

Anja: my mind.

Speaker:1061

34:48 ,519 --> 00:34:50,827

Anja: He added a richness that I hadn't thought

Speaker:1062

34:50 ,867 --> 00:34:52,973

Anja: of before and a depth that I was like wow.

Speaker:1063

34:53 ,594 --> 00:34:54,597

Anja: So I think you'll enjoy.

Speaker:1064

34:54 ,645 --> 00:34:55,717

Marc: Well, you're a big sky.

Speaker:1065

34:55 ,775 --> 00:34:57,479

Marc: That's one of the shows and there's so much

Speaker:1066

34:57 ,537 --> 00:34:59,090

Marc: stuff out there that I really want to check

Speaker:1067

34:59 ,210 --> 00:35:03,282

Marc: out that I just would gas to have on them

Speaker:1068

35:03 ,322 --> 00:35:04,325

Marc: on to make sure I'm watching some of their

Speaker:1069

35:04 ,465 --> 00:35:04,766

Marc: stuff.

Speaker:1070

35:04 ,806 --> 00:35:06,470

Anja: Oh God, you can't watch everything, that'd

Speaker:1071

35:06 ,490 --> 00:35:07,212

Anja: be crazy.

Speaker:1072

35:07 ,393 --> 00:35:10,529

Marc: But big sky is one is Kylie, Kylie Bunbury

Speaker:1073

35:10 ,629 --> 00:35:11,752

Marc: is that her name, Kylie?

Speaker:1074

35:11 ,792 --> 00:35:12,374

Anja: Bunbury.

Speaker:1075

35:12 ,414 --> 00:35:13,557

Anja: Yeah, she was one of the leads.

Speaker:1076

35:14 ,525 --> 00:35:18,293

Marc: Yeah, that anything she's in and she was in

Speaker:1077

35:18 ,313 --> 00:35:20,478

Marc: the show my Daughter Light, or she was a

Speaker:1078

35:20 ,538 --> 00:35:22,129

Marc: picture, major league picture, and she

Speaker:1079

35:22 ,149 --> 00:35:23,393

Marc: really liked it, and so whatever she shows

Speaker:1080

35:23 ,453 --> 00:35:26,271

Marc: up in, I really, I really enjoy yeah she's

Speaker:1081

35:26 ,291 --> 00:35:27,034

Marc: fantastic.

Speaker:1082

35:27 ,054 --> 00:35:27,495

Marc: She was in.

Speaker:1083

35:27 ,535 --> 00:35:28,458

Marc: Was it Game Night?

Speaker:1084

35:29 ,381 --> 00:35:30,645

Marc: Oh yeah, she was in Game Night.

Speaker:1085

35:30 ,645 --> 00:35:31,992

Anja: That was a great movie.

Speaker:1086

35:32 ,099 --> 00:35:33,160

Anja: I loved that film.

Speaker:1087

35:33 ,266 --> 00:35:33,966

Anja: That was really fun.

Speaker:1088

35:34 ,072 --> 00:35:35,620

Marc: Again that kind of comedy, you can kind of

Speaker:1089

35:35 ,640 --> 00:35:36,001

Marc: get lost.

Speaker:1090

35:36 ,121 --> 00:35:37,202

Marc: I don't know why they don't have those

Speaker:1091

35:37 ,502 --> 00:35:39,866

Marc: those shows, those movies, as much as

Speaker:1092

35:40 ,127 --> 00:35:40,929

Marc: you're major writer.

Speaker:1093

35:41 ,009 --> 00:35:42,994

Anja: Maybe you can write something like that,

Speaker:1094

35:43 ,074 --> 00:35:45,446

Anja: yeah, seriously, I'm definitely, yeah,

Speaker:1095

35:45 ,788 --> 00:35:47,855

Anja: edging towards comedy, for sure, when I'm

Speaker:1096

35:47 ,895 --> 00:35:50,524

Anja: writing, it's also just the it feels the

Speaker:1097

35:50 ,564 --> 00:35:51,208

Anja: best to write.

Speaker:1098

35:51 ,369 --> 00:35:53,079

Anja: You know, when you're writing a drama and

Speaker:1099

35:53 ,099 --> 00:35:54,145

Anja: you're getting into the nitty gritty and

Speaker:1100

35:54 ,325 --> 00:35:55,529

Anja: getting into these dark scenes, you don't

Speaker:1101

35:55 ,689 --> 00:35:56,993

Anja: feel good after.

Speaker:1102

35:57 ,294 --> 00:35:58,297

Anja: But when you're writing a comedy,

Speaker:1103

35:58 ,485 --> 00:35:59,709

Anja: especially if you're working with someone,

Speaker:1104

35:59 ,729 --> 00:36:01,755

Anja: you're just laughing the whole time and you

Speaker:1105

36:01 ,775 --> 00:36:02,055

Anja: have a good.

Speaker:1106

36:02 ,586 --> 00:36:04,173

Anja: You have a good day for the rest of the day,

Speaker:1107

36:04 ,213 --> 00:36:04,474

Anja: you know.

Speaker:1108

36:04 ,695 --> 00:36:06,805

Marc: I've played around just for fun, writing

Speaker:1109

36:06 ,966 --> 00:36:07,548

Marc: screenplays.

Speaker:1110

36:07 ,669 --> 00:36:09,155

Marc: I don't think I don't know it'd be nice if

Speaker:1111

36:09 ,296 --> 00:36:10,621

Marc: one would sell.

Speaker:1112

36:10 ,662 --> 00:36:12,228

Marc: I've never put one out there but it's just

Speaker:1113

36:12 ,288 --> 00:36:14,236

Marc: fun to me, it's cathartic or whatever, but

Speaker:1114

36:14 ,256 --> 00:36:16,906

Marc: you really, it really helped me appreciate

Speaker:1115

36:16 ,926 --> 00:36:18,852

Marc: the casting process more because as you're

Speaker:1116

36:18 ,892 --> 00:36:21,346

Marc: writing it you really get a sense of the

Speaker:1117

36:21 ,427 --> 00:36:23,075

Marc: aesthetic of the character and everything,

Speaker:1118

36:23 ,136 --> 00:36:24,905

Marc: and and it makes you feel better when you

Speaker:1119

36:24 ,925 --> 00:36:26,449

Marc: go audition for something and don't get it

Speaker:1120

36:26 ,469 --> 00:36:27,874

Marc: and we're like I just wasn't the person

Speaker:1121

36:27 ,914 --> 00:36:30,710

Marc: they imagined, you know, or the director

Speaker:1122

36:30 ,870 --> 00:36:33,335

Marc: you know, but comedy, but yeah, I could see

Speaker:1123

36:33 ,375 --> 00:36:35,227

Marc: where you really get involved in it.

Speaker:1124

36:35 ,427 --> 00:36:37,977

Marc: You know because you're thinking aesthetics,

Speaker:1125

36:38 ,318 --> 00:36:39,925

Marc: the scenery, what are, where are they, what

Speaker:1126

36:39 ,945 --> 00:36:40,491

Marc: are they doing?

Speaker:1127

36:40 ,535 --> 00:36:42,049

Marc: You know what's around, you know you really

Speaker:1128

36:42 ,093 --> 00:36:43,421

Marc: kind of submerge yourself almost like a

Speaker:1129

36:43 ,525 --> 00:36:46,573

Marc: daydream, if you will, totally a happy

Speaker:1130

36:46 ,613 --> 00:36:47,095

Marc: daydream.

Speaker:1131

36:47 ,797 --> 00:36:50,404

Marc: Yes, yeah so you know, so are you.

Speaker:1132

36:50 ,725 --> 00:36:51,528

Marc: You know your goal.

Speaker:1133

36:51 ,568 --> 00:36:53,416

Marc: Maybe in the next year or two are you

Speaker:1134

36:53 ,436 --> 00:36:55,425

Marc: wanting to put a TV show out there or, you

Speaker:1135

36:55 ,445 --> 00:36:58,431

Marc: know, is that kind of the destination for?

Speaker:1136

36:58 ,451 --> 00:36:59,674

Anja: you, I think.

Speaker:1137

36:59 ,894 --> 00:37:01,537

Anja: I mean I would love to put a TV show out,

Speaker:1138

37:01 ,678 --> 00:37:04,210

Anja: but I think it's a lot harder to make a TV

Speaker:1139

37:04 ,230 --> 00:37:05,533

Anja: show than it is to make a movie.

Speaker:1140

37:05 ,713 --> 00:37:07,806

Anja: So I think I'd probably start with a

Speaker:1141

37:07 ,846 --> 00:37:10,613

Anja: feature and then, you know, work my way

Speaker:1142

37:10 ,653 --> 00:37:11,675

Anja: towards something like that.

Speaker:1143

37:11 ,836 --> 00:37:14,249

Anja: I'd love to just work in comedy again in

Speaker:1144

37:14 ,289 --> 00:37:18,056

Anja: general, but I'm kind of open to everything.

Speaker:1145

37:18 ,156 --> 00:37:19,399

Anja: I'm whatever comes my way.

Speaker:1146

37:19 ,746 --> 00:37:23,194

Anja: As you know, with acting it's kind of not

Speaker:1147

37:23 ,234 --> 00:37:26,944

Anja: always so up to us and you got to kind of

Speaker:1148

37:27 ,004 --> 00:37:28,930

Anja: chase the opportunities that come your way.

Speaker:1149

37:29 ,171 --> 00:37:32,381

Anja: Yeah, exactly, so I don't know.

Speaker:1150

37:32 ,742 --> 00:37:34,286

Anja: I don't want to like put anything definite

Speaker:1151

37:34 ,326 --> 00:37:36,511

Anja: out there, but in terms of my own work,

Speaker:1152

37:36 ,592 --> 00:37:38,677

Anja: definitely something comedic, probably a

Speaker:1153

37:38 ,737 --> 00:37:40,188

Anja: movie, would be really fun.

Speaker:1154

37:40 ,228 --> 00:37:41,632

Marc: Yeah, I do have to finish this match.

Speaker:1155

37:41 ,692 --> 00:37:43,096

Marc: We started watching it last night.

Speaker:1156

37:43 ,646 --> 00:37:46,712

Marc: And then we have my kids.

Speaker:1157

37:47 ,153 --> 00:37:48,476

Marc: My two of them are in college in New

Speaker:1158

37:48 ,536 --> 00:37:50,487

Marc: Orleans right now, but the one is with me.

Speaker:1159

37:50 ,728 --> 00:37:54,098

Marc: He loves the TV show the Rookie on ABC.

Speaker:1160

37:55 ,321 --> 00:37:55,622

Announcer: Oh, the.

Speaker:1161

37:55 ,642 --> 00:37:56,645

Marc: Rookie, we're going to go watch it.

Speaker:1162

37:56 ,826 --> 00:37:58,314

Marc: And so we were watching your film was like,

Speaker:1163

37:58 ,375 --> 00:37:59,763

Marc: oh, rookie's coming on, gotta watch it.

Speaker:1164

37:59 ,783 --> 00:38:00,446

Marc: Debut for this year.

Speaker:1165

38:00 ,546 --> 00:38:02,373

Anja: Oh yeah, you got to go to the thing you

Speaker:1166

38:02 ,413 --> 00:38:02,714

Anja: love.

Speaker:1167

38:03 ,296 --> 00:38:05,825

Marc: So we'll come back to it, but I really

Speaker:1168

38:06 ,026 --> 00:38:06,851

Marc: liked the premise of it.

Speaker:1169

38:06 ,911 --> 00:38:07,253

Marc: I didn't.

Speaker:1170

38:07 ,334 --> 00:38:08,863

Marc: I'm wondering if there are really people

Speaker:1171

38:08 ,943 --> 00:38:10,247

Marc: out there that do that thing of mismatch,

Speaker:1172

38:10 ,288 --> 00:38:12,714

Marc: where you go and test dates or trial runs

Speaker:1173

38:12 ,774 --> 00:38:15,969

Marc: of dates with people to kind of was that,

Speaker:1174

38:16 ,009 --> 00:38:16,953

Marc: was that already a thing?

Speaker:1175

38:17 ,013 --> 00:38:18,720

Marc: I didn't know, I didn't know about?

Speaker:1176

38:18 ,821 --> 00:38:19,825

Anja: I don't think it's a thing.

Speaker:1177

38:20 ,046 --> 00:38:22,034

Anja: I think it's they were kind of going for

Speaker:1178

38:22 ,054 --> 00:38:24,324

Anja: like a female hitch type vibe, if you

Speaker:1179

38:24 ,344 --> 00:38:25,700

Anja: remember that movie with Will Smith.

Speaker:1180

38:25 ,777 --> 00:38:27,746

Marc: I, that's, that's what I was thinking.

Speaker:1181

38:27 ,823 --> 00:38:28,877

Marc: Yeah, yeah, that's it.

Speaker:1182

38:28 ,954 --> 00:38:31,311

Anja: So she's kind of like training men to go

Speaker:1183

38:31 ,371 --> 00:38:33,559

Anja: out on dates and helping them with that.

Speaker:1184

38:33 ,640 --> 00:38:35,045

Anja: And yeah, that was a cute movie.

Speaker:1185

38:35 ,265 --> 00:38:36,127

Anja: I had a lot of fun.

Speaker:1186

38:36 ,688 --> 00:38:39,394

Anja: I worked with the director, lucy Guest.

Speaker:1187

38:39 ,474 --> 00:38:42,646

Anja: She's also here from Vancouver and we

Speaker:1188

38:42 ,686 --> 00:38:44,110

Anja: really clicked and became really good

Speaker:1189

38:44 ,151 --> 00:38:44,411

Anja: friends.

Speaker:1190

38:44 ,451 --> 00:38:47,088

Anja: So I got I made a lot of really great

Speaker:1191

38:47 ,148 --> 00:38:48,855

Anja: relationships on that film.

Speaker:1192

38:49 ,779 --> 00:38:50,642

Marc: And it seems like it's fun.

Speaker:1193

38:50 ,662 --> 00:38:52,313

Marc: Like I said, I've only gotten about 20

Speaker:1194

38:52 ,416 --> 00:38:54,417

Marc: something minutes into it until the rookie

Speaker:1195

38:54 ,519 --> 00:38:56,563

Marc: came on, but but, the beauty of streaming,

Speaker:1196

38:56 ,563 --> 00:38:57,085

Marc: it's always right there.

Speaker:1197

38:57 ,105 --> 00:38:58,209

Marc: So we're going to come back, probably

Speaker:1198

38:58 ,249 --> 00:39:01,029

Marc: tonight, but I like the one, the guy who

Speaker:1199

39:01 ,310 --> 00:39:02,796

Marc: yeah, I think somebody speaking with you

Speaker:1200

39:02 ,857 --> 00:39:04,664

Marc: has a little like little control and they

Speaker:1201

39:04 ,704 --> 00:39:05,869

Marc: spit when they talk a lot.

Speaker:1202

39:06 ,552 --> 00:39:07,194

Marc: Yeah.

Speaker:1203

39:07 ,314 --> 00:39:08,439

Announcer: I know when that came up.

Speaker:1204

39:08 ,499 --> 00:39:10,005

Marc: It was just somebody I know, who's going to

Speaker:1205

39:10 ,146 --> 00:39:11,633

Marc: remain nameless, will be very vague, but

Speaker:1206

39:11 ,774 --> 00:39:13,683

Marc: one of those people that is a close

Speaker:1207

39:13 ,703 --> 00:39:13,984

Marc: standing.

Speaker:1208

39:14 ,004 --> 00:39:15,472

Marc: You know, those people stand a little too

Speaker:1209

39:15 ,513 --> 00:39:16,438

Marc: close when they talk to you.

Speaker:1210

39:16 ,699 --> 00:39:18,186

Anja: Wasn't there a Seinfeld character like that?

Speaker:1211

39:18 ,226 --> 00:39:20,893

Anja: That stood super close, yeah, yeah, but

Speaker:1212

39:20 ,933 --> 00:39:22,357

Anja: there's definitely a lot of they talk

Speaker:1213

39:22 ,397 --> 00:39:22,597

Anja: that's.

Speaker:1214

39:23 ,187 --> 00:39:25,177

Marc: I've been in that situation once before and

Speaker:1215

39:25 ,217 --> 00:39:26,021

Marc: it's so uncount.

Speaker:1216

39:26 ,041 --> 00:39:27,006

Marc: You don't want to, you don't want to make

Speaker:1217

39:27 ,026 --> 00:39:28,476

Marc: somebody feel bad about it, but it's like

Speaker:1218

39:28 ,536 --> 00:39:29,764

Marc: you know you're sitting there like wiping

Speaker:1219

39:29 ,785 --> 00:39:30,166

Marc: off going.

Speaker:1220

39:30 ,246 --> 00:39:31,087

Marc: Yeah, okay.

Speaker:1221

39:31 ,147 --> 00:39:31,367

Announcer: Yeah.

Speaker:1222

39:38 ,480 --> 00:39:40,585

Marc: One of the things I like to do.

Speaker:1223

39:40 ,805 --> 00:39:42,148

Marc: I want to ask my seven questions.

Speaker:1224

39:42 ,857 --> 00:39:44,283

Marc: It's just some fun I like to do.

Speaker:1225

39:44 ,897 --> 00:39:46,302

Marc: But the first one I'm a big food nerd.

Speaker:1226

39:46 ,937 --> 00:39:48,201

Marc: I mentioned Anthony Bourdain before.

Speaker:1227

39:48 ,221 --> 00:39:50,599

Marc: I'm a big food nerd, but I got to ask what

Speaker:1228

39:50 ,659 --> 00:39:52,545

Marc: is your favorite comfort food?

Speaker:1229

39:52 ,715 --> 00:39:54,308

Marc: That thing that you just love that?

Speaker:1230

39:54 ,469 --> 00:39:55,857

Marc: You're having a bad day, you eat it, you'll

Speaker:1231

39:55 ,938 --> 00:39:56,400

Marc: feel better.

Speaker:1232

39:56 ,420 --> 00:39:57,243

Marc: Or you're having a great day.

Speaker:1233

39:57 ,295 --> 00:39:58,322

Marc: You're like man.

Speaker:1234

39:58 ,362 --> 00:40:00,455

Marc: This is to help celebrate.

Speaker:1235

40:00 ,455 --> 00:40:01,841

Marc: I'm going to have my favorite comfort food.

Speaker:1236

40:03 ,298 --> 00:40:04,944

Anja: I love spaghetti bolognese.

Speaker:1237

40:05 ,355 --> 00:40:08,724

Anja: That's like my favorite favorite thing,

Speaker:1238

40:08 ,944 --> 00:40:10,923

Anja: like a homemade one, I think that's been

Speaker:1239

40:10 ,943 --> 00:40:12,697

Anja: mentioned three or four times, except that.

Speaker:1240

40:12 ,757 --> 00:40:14,583

Marc: I talked to a Brit and he called it Spag

Speaker:1241

40:14 ,623 --> 00:40:14,764

Marc: Bowl.

Speaker:1242

40:15 ,236 --> 00:40:16,320

Anja: This is what apparently they call it in

Speaker:1243

40:16 ,380 --> 00:40:16,702

Anja: England.

Speaker:1244

40:17 ,175 --> 00:40:18,701

Anja: Yeah, I should probably call it that.

Speaker:1245

40:18 ,741 --> 00:40:19,484

Anja: How much I eat it.

Speaker:1246

40:19 ,856 --> 00:40:20,921

Anja: I need to shorten my time.

Speaker:1247

40:21 ,375 --> 00:40:22,820

Marc: I mean, it doesn't sound pleasant unless

Speaker:1248

40:22 ,840 --> 00:40:23,964

Marc: you know what it is, you know it's like

Speaker:1249

40:24 ,004 --> 00:40:24,345

Marc: Spag Bowl.

Speaker:1250

40:24 ,515 --> 00:40:25,137

Anja: He's always like a.

Speaker:1251

40:25 ,177 --> 00:40:25,659

Marc: Spag Bowl.

Speaker:1252

40:25 ,679 --> 00:40:26,662

Marc: I was like what's a Spag Bowl?

Speaker:1253

40:26 ,682 --> 00:40:27,384

Marc: Oh, spaghetti bologna.

Speaker:1254

40:27 ,856 --> 00:40:28,718

Marc: So you're not.

Speaker:1255

40:28 ,739 --> 00:40:30,304

Marc: You're not alone in that camp or in that

Speaker:1256

40:30 ,344 --> 00:40:30,625

Marc: tribe.

Speaker:1257

40:30 ,755 --> 00:40:32,141

Anja: Oh love spaghetti bolognese.

Speaker:1258

40:33 ,155 --> 00:40:34,659

Marc: Now, if you are to sit down, let's say

Speaker:1259

40:34 ,679 --> 00:40:36,966

Marc: you're going to have coffee with three

Speaker:1260

40:37 ,006 --> 00:40:37,837

Marc: people a few hours.

Speaker:1261

40:37 ,877 --> 00:40:40,145

Marc: Sit down, talk story, living or not.

Speaker:1262

40:40 ,275 --> 00:40:41,880

Marc: Who would three people be you would love to

Speaker:1263

40:41 ,920 --> 00:40:42,802

Marc: sit down with and chat?

Speaker:1264

40:44 ,195 --> 00:40:46,941

Anja: Oh my gosh, that's a very hard question.

Speaker:1265

40:51 ,216 --> 00:40:52,924

Marc: I know I don't mean it to be hard, but it's

Speaker:1266

40:52 ,964 --> 00:40:55,235

Marc: funny, because I spoke with someone the

Speaker:1267

40:55 ,276 --> 00:40:57,581

Marc: other day, sheree Agdashlu, and she was

Speaker:1268

40:57 ,601 --> 00:40:58,744

Marc: like who are your three people?

Speaker:1269

40:58 ,785 --> 00:40:59,306

Marc: I was like shit.

Speaker:1270

41:00 ,096 --> 00:41:00,961

Announcer: Oh, what did you say?

Speaker:1271

41:03 ,697 --> 00:41:04,901

Marc: Well, I told her, I said one of them is my

Speaker:1272

41:04 ,941 --> 00:41:06,586

Marc: grandfather who passed away, because I said

Speaker:1273

41:06 ,655 --> 00:41:07,818

Marc: I'm getting to that age where I'd love to

Speaker:1274

41:07 ,838 --> 00:41:09,461

Marc: kind of like check in with him on certain

Speaker:1275

41:09 ,521 --> 00:41:09,762

Marc: things.

Speaker:1276

41:09 ,782 --> 00:41:10,864

Marc: You know, my kids are getting old.

Speaker:1277

41:10 ,885 --> 00:41:13,621

Marc: Yeah, that's beautiful, you know you don't

Speaker:1278

41:13 ,661 --> 00:41:15,189

Marc: know, until you're older the questions you

Speaker:1279

41:15 ,249 --> 00:41:16,997

Marc: haven't asked that you should have asked,

Speaker:1280

41:17 ,297 --> 00:41:18,421

Marc: but you didn't know to ask because you're

Speaker:1281

41:18 ,441 --> 00:41:18,822

Marc: too young.

Speaker:1282

41:18 ,903 --> 00:41:19,605

Announcer: So true.

Speaker:1283

41:20 ,316 --> 00:41:20,738

Anja: That I think.

Speaker:1284

41:20 ,758 --> 00:41:22,804

Marc: I mentioned Alan Watts and it was one of

Speaker:1285

41:21 Admiration for Alan Watts

41:22 ,824 --> 00:41:22,945

Marc: them.

Speaker:1286

41:23 ,295 --> 00:41:24,620

Anja: Oh, I love Alan Watts.

Speaker:1287

41:24 ,981 --> 00:41:26,077

Anja: Yeah, oh God, I used to when.

Speaker:1288

41:26 ,097 --> 00:41:27,525

Marc: I worked on the radio briefly in LA.

Speaker:1289

41:28 ,068 --> 00:41:29,997

Marc: I used to live in Sinita, just north county

Speaker:1290

41:30 ,017 --> 00:41:31,562

Marc: of San Diego, so I'd go to In-N-Out Burger

Speaker:1291

41:31 ,582 --> 00:41:33,778

Marc: get a chocolate shake and drive south the

Speaker:1292

41:33 ,798 --> 00:41:35,363

Marc: head back home after I got off the air.

Speaker:1293

41:36 ,776 --> 00:41:37,420

Marc: And I would turn.

Speaker:1294

41:37 ,440 --> 00:41:39,090

Marc: It was a radio Pacific or somewhere they

Speaker:1295

41:39 ,110 --> 00:41:39,211

Marc: would.

Speaker:1296

41:39 ,432 --> 00:41:41,099

Marc: I didn't know who it was, but I'd listen to

Speaker:1297

41:41 ,139 --> 00:41:42,423

Marc: him every day driving back.

Speaker:1298

41:43 ,135 --> 00:41:43,235

Marc: And.

Speaker:1299

41:43 ,777 --> 00:41:45,101

Marc: But now I just one of those guys who just

Speaker:1300

41:45 ,161 --> 00:41:46,706

Marc: love to sit down and groove on you know

Speaker:1301

41:46 ,915 --> 00:41:48,020

Marc: life with you know talk.

Speaker:1302

41:48 ,716 --> 00:41:50,222

Anja: Oh my God, I love him.

Speaker:1303

41:50 ,335 --> 00:41:53,888

Anja: I used to listen to his, his, his lectures,

Speaker:1304

41:54 ,009 --> 00:41:55,635

Anja: like I had that series of all his lectures

Speaker:1305

41:55 ,756 --> 00:41:56,903

Anja: and I would just listen to them over and

Speaker:1306

41:56 ,984 --> 00:41:57,548

Anja: over and over.

Speaker:1307

41:57 ,729 --> 00:41:58,655

Anja: Oh yeah, they're so good.

Speaker:1308

41:58 ,815 --> 00:42:00,621

Marc: Well, his son just released something.

Speaker:1309

42:01 ,243 --> 00:42:01,784

Marc: It's an app.

Speaker:1310

42:02 ,656 --> 00:42:03,741

Marc: It's an Alan Watts app.

Speaker:1311

42:03 ,935 --> 00:42:06,442

Marc: It's got literally everything organized and

Speaker:1312

42:06 ,643 --> 00:42:10,052

Marc: it's it was, and I just you're the only

Speaker:1313

42:10 ,115 --> 00:42:11,642

Marc: guess I've had that really knew who he was.

Speaker:1314

42:12 ,205 --> 00:42:13,230

Announcer: So it's kind of yay.

Speaker:1315

42:13 ,371 --> 00:42:15,358

Marc: He's great, but yeah, there's an app out

Speaker:1316

42:15 ,378 --> 00:42:16,863

Marc: there and his son, Marc Watts, put it

Speaker:1317

42:16 ,903 --> 00:42:18,737

Marc: together and I don't know it's, he's one of

Speaker:1318

42:18 ,778 --> 00:42:20,663

Marc: those guys you listen to go yeah, never

Speaker:1319

42:20 ,683 --> 00:42:21,916

Marc: really thought about life that way.

Speaker:1320

42:22 ,157 --> 00:42:23,499

Marc: You know live in the moment.

Speaker:1321

42:23 ,539 --> 00:42:24,963

Anja: There is no tomorrow, yeah, and he keeps

Speaker:1322

42:24 ,983 --> 00:42:27,655

Anja: that light, he keeps it very light, he

Speaker:1323

42:27 ,675 --> 00:42:29,762

Anja: laughs a lot and yeah, he's, he's a great

Speaker:1324

42:29 ,802 --> 00:42:30,002

Anja: guy.

Speaker:1325

42:30 ,143 --> 00:42:31,537

Anja: Actually, I you know what I'll go with Alan

Speaker:1326

42:31 ,557 --> 00:42:34,400

Anja: Watts for one of mine, um one of my people.

Speaker:1327

42:35 ,142 --> 00:42:35,484

Announcer: Yeah.

Speaker:1328

42:36 ,196 --> 00:42:38,023

Anja: Um, I'm a sucker for Oprah Winfrey.

Speaker:1329

42:38 ,355 --> 00:42:40,580

Anja: I just have loved her ever since I was a

Speaker:1330

42:40 ,621 --> 00:42:42,445

Anja: kid and watched her show with my mom, you

Speaker:1331

42:42 ,485 --> 00:42:43,587

Anja: know, every day after school.

Speaker:1332

42:43 ,855 --> 00:42:47,998

Anja: So definitely her, and maybe like Noam

Speaker:1333

42:48 ,018 --> 00:42:50,443

Anja: Chomsky, just to learn a little bit more

Speaker:1334

42:50 ,463 --> 00:42:51,084

Anja: about the world.

Speaker:1335

42:51 ,485 --> 00:42:52,607

Anja: Yeah, I love him.

Speaker:1336

42:53 ,375 --> 00:42:54,159

Marc: Oh, he had a great quote.

Speaker:1337

42:54 ,179 --> 00:42:55,567

Marc: The other day I saw something that he's

Speaker:1338

42:55 ,607 --> 00:42:56,134

Marc: talking about AI.

Speaker:1339

42:56 ,556 --> 00:42:58,898

Marc: He said AI is not a thinking thing, it's a.

Speaker:1340

42:59 ,360 --> 00:43:00,766

Marc: It's a plagiarism machine.

Speaker:1341

43:01 ,409 --> 00:43:01,629

Marc: Is what?

Speaker:1342

43:01 ,650 --> 00:43:01,971

Announcer: he called it.

Speaker:1343

43:02 ,015 --> 00:43:03,260

Announcer: I was, like you know, that kind of is

Speaker:1344

43:03 ,601 --> 00:43:04,797

Announcer: because it's not creating, it's just

Speaker:1345

43:05 ,262 --> 00:43:06,695

Announcer: digesting and regurgitating.

Speaker:1346

43:07 ,898 --> 00:43:10,483

Anja: Have you seen how good the videos are

Speaker:1347

43:10 ,504 --> 00:43:10,784

Anja: getting?

Speaker:1348

43:11 ,887 --> 00:43:14,123

Anja: Scary Somebody showed something last year

Speaker:1349

43:14 ,163 --> 00:43:16,515

Anja: that video of Will Smith eating spaghetti.

Speaker:1350

43:16 ,575 --> 00:43:18,077

Marc: I mean, we've all seen it which is just a

Speaker:1351

43:18 ,117 --> 00:43:18,258

Marc: story.

Speaker:1352

43:18 ,298 --> 00:43:19,960

Anja: That one was terrible yeah.

Speaker:1353

43:20 ,080 --> 00:43:21,162

Marc: And they show one year later.

Speaker:1354

43:21 ,262 --> 00:43:23,346

Marc: Now it's like indistinguishable, you know

Speaker:1355

43:23 ,466 --> 00:43:24,207

Marc: it's insane.

Speaker:1356

43:24 ,367 --> 00:43:24,988

Anja: It's insane.

Speaker:1357

43:25 ,269 --> 00:43:26,050

Anja: I'm terrified, I'm terrified.

Speaker:1358

43:26 ,295 --> 00:43:27,760

Marc: I live a lot in the world of voiceover and

Speaker:1359

43:27 ,840 --> 00:43:31,092

Marc: some people are like you know it is kind of

Speaker:1360

43:31 ,212 --> 00:43:31,975

Marc: you know, easy to replicate.

Speaker:1361

43:32 ,176 --> 00:43:34,446

Marc: But I'm like I said, the one thing I tell I

Speaker:1362

43:34 ,687 --> 00:43:36,455

Marc: teach voiceover and also, and I tell my

Speaker:1363

43:36 ,576 --> 00:43:38,426

Marc: students is it's never, I don't care.

Speaker:1364

43:38 ,446 --> 00:43:39,814

Marc: Anybody says I know some people like well,

Speaker:1365

43:39 ,834 --> 00:43:42,638

Marc: you never know technology, it's never going

Speaker:1366

43:42 ,658 --> 00:43:45,589

Marc: to be able to be like an actor has emotion

Speaker:1367

43:45 ,709 --> 00:43:48,358

Marc: and it can't make choices and reflect that

Speaker:1368

43:48 ,398 --> 00:43:50,143

Marc: through facial expression, body language,

Speaker:1369

43:51 ,655 --> 00:43:53,166

Marc: and so there's always going to be and the

Speaker:1370

43:53 ,267 --> 00:43:54,415

Marc: moment I don't know about you, but we're

Speaker:1371

43:54 ,455 --> 00:43:57,603

Marc: not watching a YouTube video and I pick out

Speaker:1372

43:57 ,684 --> 00:43:58,646

Marc: oh, that's a voice.

Speaker:1373

43:59 ,176 --> 00:44:01,117

Marc: I'm immediately out of it, I feel like it's

Speaker:1374

44:01 ,157 --> 00:44:04,145

Marc: just it's just it feels kind of like I

Speaker:1375

44:04 ,165 --> 00:44:05,007

Marc: would rather read it.

Speaker:1376

44:05 ,075 --> 00:44:06,741

Marc: I don't need to have a computer voice

Speaker:1377

44:06 ,781 --> 00:44:08,598

Marc: talking to me, it's just maybe I'm weird

Speaker:1378

44:08 ,659 --> 00:44:10,946

Marc: like that, but no, I agree completely.

Speaker:1379

44:11 ,075 --> 00:44:13,662

Anja: I think we all want a real, authentic human

Speaker:1380

44:13 ,783 --> 00:44:15,166

Anja: and especially when it's something artistic,

Speaker:1381

44:15 ,295 --> 00:44:16,661

Anja: we want to know that they felt what they

Speaker:1382

44:16 ,681 --> 00:44:17,244

Anja: were making.

Speaker:1383

44:17 ,847 --> 00:44:19,956

Anja: You know that they, they came up with it,

Speaker:1384

44:20 ,097 --> 00:44:21,301

Anja: not some computer.

Speaker:1385

44:21 ,341 --> 00:44:22,124

Anja: So I'm with you there.

Speaker:1386

44:22 ,375 --> 00:44:24,082

Marc: Can you imagine a movie that was written by

Speaker:1387

44:24 ,202 --> 00:44:24,443

Marc: AI?

Speaker:1388

44:24 ,555 --> 00:44:26,484

Marc: If I found out, found that I mean it may be

Speaker:1389

44:26 ,604 --> 00:44:29,015

Marc: interesting just from a pure curiosity

Speaker:1390

44:29 ,115 --> 00:44:31,643

Marc: standpoint, but not like to have that be a

Speaker:1391

44:31 ,723 --> 00:44:32,445

Marc: norm or something.

Speaker:1392

44:33 ,216 --> 00:44:34,539

Anja: It's going to be the new toy everybody

Speaker:1393

44:34 ,579 --> 00:44:37,324

Anja: plays with for a while, and then you know I

Speaker:1394

44:37 ,345 --> 00:44:38,988

Anja: don't know what's going to happen Totally

Speaker:1395

44:39 ,675 --> 00:44:41,140

Anja: and, and I'm sure there'll be movies and

Speaker:1396

44:41 ,220 --> 00:44:43,026

Anja: songs and things like that that we'll love

Speaker:1397

44:43 ,215 --> 00:44:44,723

Anja: that'll be AI, but I think there'll be a

Speaker:1398

44:44 ,783 --> 00:44:47,094

Anja: limit to the amount that we allow it into

Speaker:1399

44:47 ,114 --> 00:44:47,295

Anja: our lives.

Speaker:1400

44:47 ,355 --> 00:44:48,681

Marc: I think we love connection.

Speaker:1401

44:48 ,895 --> 00:44:51,264

Marc: I think we love instinctively authenticity

Speaker:1402

44:51 ,565 --> 00:44:54,255

Marc: and that human desire I think is going to

Speaker:1403

44:54 ,395 --> 00:44:57,462

Marc: be the roadblock for AI to go beyond.

Speaker:1404

44:57 ,602 --> 00:44:59,747

Marc: You know absolutely.

Speaker:1405

45:00 ,415 --> 00:45:02,819

Anja: So Dome Chomsky and Alan Watson you have

Speaker:1406

45:02 ,839 --> 00:45:03,940

Anja: heard one of that Oprah Winfrey, oprah

Speaker:1407

45:03 ,960 --> 00:45:05,262

Anja: Winfrey, oprah Winfrey.

Speaker:1408

45:05 ,282 --> 00:45:05,763

Anja: I heard that was three.

Speaker:1409

45:05 ,823 --> 00:45:07,726

Marc: Alan Watts, yeah, got a good one, oh, very

Speaker:1410

45:07 ,766 --> 00:45:07,926

Marc: good.

Speaker:1411

45:07 ,946 --> 00:45:08,066

Anja: Yeah.

Speaker:1412

45:11 ,295 --> 00:45:12,443

Marc: You know, she the arc of her career, me

Speaker:1413

45:12 ,463 --> 00:45:13,832

Marc: being younger watching which I first

Speaker:1414

45:13 ,853 --> 00:45:16,604

Marc: started doing her show and how she evolved

Speaker:1415

45:16 ,624 --> 00:45:17,919

Marc: it, Because when it started off it was a

Speaker:1416

45:17 ,959 --> 00:45:19,364

Marc: little bit like the Phil Donahue show.

Speaker:1417

45:19 ,435 --> 00:45:22,332

Marc: It was not the Oprah Winfrey show that it

Speaker:1418

45:22 ,412 --> 00:45:24,159

Marc: evolved into I mean the first year or two,

Speaker:1419

45:24 ,701 --> 00:45:26,768

Marc: but she's definitely a self-made woman,

Speaker:1420

45:26 ,869 --> 00:45:27,471

Marc: without a doubt.

Speaker:1421

45:27 ,691 --> 00:45:30,119

Marc: She's the best Now if we were to go back

Speaker:1422

45:30 ,500 --> 00:45:35,273

Marc: and when you were young, on yet who was

Speaker:1423

45:35 ,293 --> 00:45:35,594

Marc: your first?

Speaker:1424

45:35 ,614 --> 00:45:37,825

Marc: Celebrity crush that you were looking at.

Speaker:1425

45:38 ,116 --> 00:45:39,441

Announcer: My first celebrity crush.

Speaker:1426

45:39 ,481 --> 00:45:40,324

Marc: Was it somebody on the OC.

Speaker:1427

45:41 ,238 --> 00:45:42,141

Marc: No, because you had mentioned that.

Speaker:1428

45:43 ,658 --> 00:45:44,802

Anja: Oh, I did love the OC.

Speaker:1429

45:46 ,438 --> 00:45:47,522

Anja: That's a good question.

Speaker:1430

45:48 ,982 --> 00:45:53,203

Anja: I don't know, I had a lot of posters up in

Speaker:1431

45:53 ,223 --> 00:45:53,584

Anja: my room.

Speaker:1432

45:54 ,562 --> 00:45:55,269

Marc: A lot of J-14.

Speaker:1433

45:56 ,898 --> 00:45:58,142

Anja: I don't know if you know that magazine.

Speaker:1434

45:58 ,162 --> 00:46:00,579

Marc: It was like a kid's it was kind of like

Speaker:1435

46:00 ,600 --> 00:46:01,943

Marc: Tiger Beach or something like that.

Speaker:1436

46:01 ,983 --> 00:46:02,826

Anja: Yeah, totally.

Speaker:1437

46:03 ,075 --> 00:46:04,599

Anja: And they had posters inside and I'd always

Speaker:1438

46:04 ,639 --> 00:46:08,637

Anja: have them up on my walls, but probably like

Speaker:1439

46:08 ,697 --> 00:46:12,566

Anja: a first crush, maybe Shia LaBeouf.

Speaker:1440

46:13 ,836 --> 00:46:15,620

Marc: Because I loved even Stevens yeah.

Speaker:1441

46:16 ,322 --> 00:46:16,943

Announcer: That's right.

Speaker:1442

46:17 ,164 --> 00:46:18,607

Marc: I forgot he did that yeah.

Speaker:1443

46:19 ,216 --> 00:46:20,501

Anja: Yeah, he was great in that.

Speaker:1444

46:21 ,095 --> 00:46:24,457

Anja: He's a talented guy, so Shia LaBeouf was

Speaker:1445

46:24 ,478 --> 00:46:26,343

Anja: the first Makes sense.

Speaker:1446

46:26 ,643 --> 00:46:28,781

Marc: Yeah, of the era, yeah.

Speaker:1447

46:28 ,821 --> 00:46:30,110

Anja: I'm trying to think that he was popular

Speaker:1448

46:30 ,130 --> 00:46:30,795

Anja: when I was growing up.

Speaker:1449

46:31 ,276 --> 00:46:33,140

Marc: I think the original Beverly Hills night of

Speaker:1450

46:33 ,160 --> 00:46:35,285

Marc: two when I was in high school.

Speaker:1451

46:35 ,325 --> 00:46:38,816

Marc: Though Now I'm old, you see, I'm trying to

Speaker:1452

46:38 ,836 --> 00:46:39,819

Marc: remember way back when.

Speaker:1453

46:39 ,839 --> 00:46:41,664

Marc: Like, who was you know what was going on

Speaker:1454

46:41 ,685 --> 00:46:42,005

Marc: back then?

Speaker:1455

46:42 ,355 --> 00:46:44,642

Marc: But now the next question I got for you if

Speaker:1456

46:44 ,682 --> 00:46:46,567

Marc: you're going to go to, let's say, an exotic

Speaker:1457

46:46 ,715 --> 00:46:48,160

Marc: island, you're going to be living on it for

Speaker:1458

46:48 ,200 --> 00:46:49,525

Marc: a year and you're not like a cast away.

Speaker:1459

46:49 ,695 --> 00:46:51,702

Marc: It's nice, maybe the resort, but it doesn't

Speaker:1460

46:51 ,742 --> 00:46:52,204

Marc: have internet.

Speaker:1461

46:52 ,515 --> 00:46:54,141

Marc: No, no streaming, no, nothing.

Speaker:1462

46:55 ,335 --> 00:46:58,703

Marc: So you have to bring one DVD of a movie and

Speaker:1463

46:58 ,824 --> 00:47:02,881

Marc: one CD of an album or who or what would

Speaker:1464

47:02 ,901 --> 00:47:04,185

Marc: that CD and DVD be?

Speaker:1465

47:04 ,285 --> 00:47:05,796

Marc: You bring with you Something you could

Speaker:1466

47:05 ,857 --> 00:47:07,701

Marc: watch and listen to over and over again.

Speaker:1467

47:08 ,623 --> 00:47:16,366

Anja: Okay, hmm, I think for movie maybe Greece.

Speaker:1468

47:18 ,015 --> 00:47:19,541

Anja: Greece is like one of my favorite films.

Speaker:1469

47:20 ,276 --> 00:47:21,601

Anja: I could probably watch that every single

Speaker:1470

47:21 ,641 --> 00:47:22,805

Anja: day and be happy with it.

Speaker:1471

47:23 ,075 --> 00:47:24,500

Marc: Oh, I had a thing for a living Newton John

Speaker:1472

47:24 ,520 --> 00:47:25,804

Marc: back in the day, so I'm there with you.

Speaker:1473

47:26 ,135 --> 00:47:27,003

Anja: Oh, I had a thing for Kenickie.

Speaker:1474

47:27 ,215 --> 00:47:29,262

Anja: He was my, he was my crush for sure.

Speaker:1475

47:30 ,255 --> 00:47:31,641

Anja: Maybe that was my first crush.

Speaker:1476

47:32 ,336 --> 00:47:33,659

Anja: Although it's so weird to think of like a

Speaker:1477

47:33 ,720 --> 00:47:35,684

Anja: grown man when you're like 10 watching

Speaker:1478

47:35 ,724 --> 00:47:36,025

Anja: something.

Speaker:1479

47:36 ,145 --> 00:47:38,358

Anja: It was, I remember watching that thinking.

Speaker:1480

47:38 ,779 --> 00:47:41,485

Marc: I remember we were at the grocery store and

Speaker:1481

47:41 ,986 --> 00:47:43,660

Marc: my mother, we went to go get something.

Speaker:1482

47:43 ,681 --> 00:47:45,031

Marc: And I'm walking through and I see a people

Speaker:1483

47:45 ,071 --> 00:47:46,478

Marc: magazine in the rack and talking about how

Speaker:1484

47:46 ,498 --> 00:47:47,924

Marc: Olivia Newton John got married.

Speaker:1485

47:48 ,657 --> 00:47:49,581

Marc: I mean his year, I mean.

Speaker:1486

47:49 ,882 --> 00:47:52,391

Marc: I was taken back as like wait, you know, I

Speaker:1487

47:52 ,712 --> 00:47:54,761

Marc: had no concept of age at that point.

Speaker:1488

47:54 ,855 --> 00:47:56,343

Marc: I was like, if I have a crush on them, I'll

Speaker:1489

47:56 ,363 --> 00:47:57,066

Marc: meet them one day.

Speaker:1490

47:57 ,146 --> 00:47:59,618

Marc: And then you know, such as the seven year

Speaker:1491

47:59 ,658 --> 00:48:00,943

Marc: old or eight year old mind, I guess.

Speaker:1492

48:01 ,837 --> 00:48:03,383

Anja: Yeah, I know Okay.

Speaker:1493

48:03 ,755 --> 00:48:07,295

Anja: So I think that's my favorite album.

Speaker:1494

48:07 ,335 --> 00:48:12,302

Anja: That's harder, maybe like Hot Fuss by the

Speaker:1495

48:12 ,343 --> 00:48:12,744

Anja: Killers.

Speaker:1496

48:13 ,375 --> 00:48:15,521

Anja: That was one of my first favorite albums

Speaker:1497

48:15 ,822 --> 00:48:17,487

Anja: and I still think it's a perfect album.

Speaker:1498

48:17 ,775 --> 00:48:19,234

Anja: No-transcript, I'll go with that.

Speaker:1499

48:19 ,434 --> 00:48:19,877

Marc: That was like a.

Speaker:1500

48:19 ,917 --> 00:48:22,610

Anja: What was it like it was a long time ago,

Speaker:1501

48:22 ,730 --> 00:48:23,773

Anja: that was early 2000s.

Speaker:1502

48:24 ,014 --> 00:48:27,273

Anja: Roughly Am I okay, totally yeah, yeah, it

Speaker:1503

48:27 ,313 --> 00:48:27,534

Anja: was.

Speaker:1504

48:28 ,451 --> 00:48:29,976

Marc: I think I played some of that on the radio

Speaker:1505

48:30 ,691 --> 00:48:32,457

Marc: way back in my radio days, which are long

Speaker:1506

48:32 ,497 --> 00:48:32,738

Marc: gone.

Speaker:1507

48:33 ,290 --> 00:48:35,232

Anja: You have such a radio voice, it's like

Speaker:1508

48:35 ,774 --> 00:48:36,577

Anja: makes total sense.

Speaker:1509

48:36 ,617 --> 00:48:37,259

Anja: You were on the radio.

Speaker:1510

48:38 ,672 --> 00:48:41,121

Marc: I've been accused of that Now it's now.

Speaker:1511

48:41 ,182 --> 00:48:42,475

Marc: I've got the last thing and it was a

Speaker:1512

48:42 ,515 --> 00:48:43,810

Marc: syndicated show on ABC Radio.

Speaker:1513

48:43 ,992 --> 00:48:45,089

Anja: I guess a podcast is similar.

Speaker:1514

48:45 ,251 --> 00:48:46,299

Anja: Well, you know that's.

Speaker:1515

48:46 ,340 --> 00:48:48,257

Marc: The thing I missed about radio was not the

Speaker:1516

48:48 ,318 --> 00:48:51,256

Marc: playing of the music, because before when

Speaker:1517

48:51 ,276 --> 00:48:52,951

Marc: the audience catches on to the song and

Speaker:1518

48:52 ,971 --> 00:48:54,366

Marc: they start loving it, you're sick and tired

Speaker:1519

48:54 ,406 --> 00:48:56,235

Marc: of hearing it because just you gotta play

Speaker:1520

48:56 ,276 --> 00:48:58,334

Marc: it so much and you're in the studio four or

Speaker:1521

48:58 ,374 --> 00:48:59,077

Marc: five hours a day.

Speaker:1522

48:59 ,491 --> 00:49:01,929

Marc: But no, when I had my show on ABC, that was

Speaker:1523

49:01 ,949 --> 00:49:03,825

Marc: like I could talk with people, like I had a

Speaker:1524

49:03 ,906 --> 00:49:05,498

Marc: retro show, which was a lot of fun, talked

Speaker:1525

49:05 ,538 --> 00:49:09,281

Marc: like Rick Springfield and I've got any one

Speaker:1526

49:09 ,301 --> 00:49:10,890

Marc: of the people from the retro era.

Speaker:1527

49:11 ,053 --> 00:49:12,412

Marc: That was so much fun for me because that's

Speaker:1528

49:12 ,432 --> 00:49:13,215

Marc: who I grew up with.

Speaker:1529

49:14 ,092 --> 00:49:15,390

Marc: But I missed that part of it.

Speaker:1530

49:15 ,592 --> 00:49:17,070

Marc: I didn't miss other aspects of it.

Speaker:1531

49:17 ,210 --> 00:49:19,959

Marc: So I just did acting and voiceover, which

Speaker:1532

49:19 ,999 --> 00:49:23,364

Marc: is my main gig, and then I figured well,

Speaker:1533

49:23 ,384 --> 00:49:25,173

Marc: the podcast will satisfy and scratch that

Speaker:1534

49:25 ,333 --> 00:49:26,999

Marc: itch of being able to talk to interesting

Speaker:1535

49:27 ,391 --> 00:49:29,694

Marc: fascinating people from Canada Totally.

Speaker:1536

49:30 ,591 --> 00:49:33,199

Anja: I've been watching a lot of Frasier right

Speaker:1537

49:33 ,259 --> 00:49:35,649

Anja: now and, like the old the original one.

Speaker:1538

49:35 ,791 --> 00:49:37,427

Announcer: The new one is a new one out of the

Speaker:1539

49:37 ,447 --> 00:49:38,157

Announcer: original one, the new one's out, but.

Speaker:1540

49:38 ,177 --> 00:49:39,653

Anja: I'm watching the original and it's just

Speaker:1541

49:39 ,834 --> 00:49:42,997

Anja: such a good show and I love all the radio

Speaker:1542

49:43 ,038 --> 00:49:45,589

Anja: bits in it and you could totally do that

Speaker:1543

49:45 ,831 --> 00:49:46,755

Anja: Become a psychologist.

Speaker:1544

49:47 ,371 --> 00:49:49,297

Marc: Yeah, a lot of those are pretty accurate.

Speaker:1545

49:49 ,891 --> 00:49:52,512

Marc: Like there's a lot of absurdity in radio, a

Speaker:1546

49:52 ,593 --> 00:49:55,255

Marc: lot of personalities that are just oh yeah,

Speaker:1547

49:55 ,295 --> 00:49:56,279

Marc: the people that call in.

Speaker:1548

49:56 ,931 --> 00:49:59,652

Anja: I mean that alone is like whoa, who am I

Speaker:1549

49:59 ,673 --> 00:50:00,316

Anja: going to get today?

Speaker:1550

50:00 ,791 --> 00:50:02,510

Marc: There are some that are just heartwarming,

Speaker:1551

50:02 ,712 --> 00:50:04,149

Marc: like people like oh man, it's like every

Speaker:1552

50:04 ,169 --> 00:50:05,335

Marc: week I look forward to hearing it.

Speaker:1553

50:05 ,611 --> 00:50:06,696

Marc: Others they call up going.

Speaker:1554

50:07 ,592 --> 00:50:08,948

Marc: Thank God I don't live in the same city as

Speaker:1555

50:08 ,968 --> 00:50:10,088

Marc: they do, because this could be dangerous.

Speaker:1556

50:10 ,352 --> 00:50:11,790

Announcer: I mean, I've heard stories of stalker.

Speaker:1557

50:11 ,992 --> 00:50:13,508

Marc: I even had one stalker once but that's a

Speaker:1558

50:13 ,528 --> 00:50:13,914

Marc: whole oh.

Speaker:1559

50:14 ,524 --> 00:50:15,934

Marc: God, but he stalked everybody.

Speaker:1560

50:15 ,995 --> 00:50:16,557

Marc: I wasn't unique.

Speaker:1561

50:16 ,970 --> 00:50:18,536

Anja: Your stalker didn't make you feel special.

Speaker:1562

50:18 ,918 --> 00:50:23,581

Marc: Well, no, I remember I was a helicopter.

Speaker:1563

50:23 ,630 --> 00:50:25,470

Marc: I flew in a helicopter doing traffic in

Speaker:1564

50:25 ,550 --> 00:50:27,715

Marc: Dallas when I was like 20 years old and we

Speaker:1565

50:27 ,795 --> 00:50:29,327

Marc: landed in a place in a suburb called

Speaker:1566

50:29 ,408 --> 00:50:31,597

Marc: Arlington where they would refuel the

Speaker:1567

50:31 ,677 --> 00:50:32,399

Marc: helicopter as well.

Speaker:1568

50:33 ,478 --> 00:50:34,890

Marc: There was a Dallas police helicopter

Speaker:1569

50:35 ,032 --> 00:50:36,510

Marc: landing and refueling in the TV station.

Speaker:1570

50:36 ,711 --> 00:50:38,357

Marc: So we had like two or three at any given

Speaker:1571

50:38 ,397 --> 00:50:41,008

Marc: time and one of them was for another radio

Speaker:1572

50:41 ,028 --> 00:50:41,230

Marc: station.

Speaker:1573

50:41 ,391 --> 00:50:43,748

Marc: That pilot walked over and we were just

Speaker:1574

50:43 ,769 --> 00:50:45,002

Marc: talking because I had to finish my last

Speaker:1575

50:45 ,042 --> 00:50:46,232

Marc: report and I got out and we were eating

Speaker:1576

50:46 ,293 --> 00:50:48,488

Marc: donuts and coffee and that was early in the

Speaker:1577

50:48 ,508 --> 00:50:49,861

Marc: morning and I found out.

Speaker:1578

50:50 ,002 --> 00:50:50,810

Marc: We just had a conversation.

Speaker:1579

50:51 ,011 --> 00:50:53,102

Marc: We had the same stalker and I'd found out

Speaker:1580

50:53 ,143 --> 00:50:54,179

Marc: another friend of mine, another radio

Speaker:1581

50:54 ,220 --> 00:50:54,830

Marc: station had the same guy.

Speaker:1582

50:54 ,951 --> 00:50:56,743

Marc: He changed names, he used different names

Speaker:1583

50:56 ,764 --> 00:50:57,150

Marc: of different people.

Speaker:1584

50:57 ,150 --> 00:50:58,998

Marc: He was really smart at finding out the

Speaker:1585

50:59 ,076 --> 00:51:00,997

Marc: hotline phone number at every radio station

Speaker:1586

51:01 ,017 --> 00:51:03,385

Marc: and calling and tour meeting and I was like

Speaker:1587

51:03 ,405 --> 00:51:05,255

Marc: for a month he found my home telephone

Speaker:1588

51:05 ,295 --> 00:51:07,071

Marc: number, would call me at all hours and I

Speaker:1589

51:07 ,111 --> 00:51:09,379

Marc: was like when I found out that he would

Speaker:1590

51:09 ,399 --> 00:51:12,158

Marc: call my, this guy Jim my friend Trey.

Speaker:1591

51:12 ,178 --> 00:51:12,921

Announcer: I was like wait a minute.

Speaker:1592

51:13 ,463 --> 00:51:14,307

Marc: I'm not special.

Speaker:1593

51:14 ,387 --> 00:51:15,713

Marc: I'm not the one, I'm not the one.

Speaker:1594

51:16 ,110 --> 00:51:17,440

Marc: There are other people he's stalking.

Speaker:1595

51:17 ,478 --> 00:51:20,440

Anja: I felt like I feel like that's a comedy

Speaker:1596

51:20 ,480 --> 00:51:22,640

Anja: movie right there, like someone being

Speaker:1597

51:22 ,700 --> 00:51:23,748

Anja: scared of their stalker and then being like

Speaker:1598

51:23 ,768 --> 00:51:25,457

Anja: wait a minute, why am I not the only one?

Speaker:1599

51:27 ,571 --> 00:51:29,015

Announcer: It's I want to be a friend to him now Be a

Speaker:1600

51:29 ,035 --> 00:51:29,457

Announcer: great movie.

Speaker:1601

51:30 ,720 --> 00:51:32,536

Anja: Yeah, why not just me?

Speaker:1602

51:33 ,151 --> 00:51:33,914

Anja: Am I not good enough?

Speaker:1603

51:34 ,632 --> 00:51:35,716

Marc: Well, there you go, there you go.

Speaker:1604

51:36 ,111 --> 00:51:37,537

Marc: I get a story by credit.

Speaker:1605

51:38 ,457 --> 00:51:39,587

Marc: It's your next project.

Speaker:1606

51:39 ,667 --> 00:51:39,950

Marc: Go for it.

Speaker:1607

51:40 ,051 --> 00:51:42,173

Announcer: That's so good, I love that, but no, this

Speaker:1608

51:42 ,194 --> 00:51:43,398

Announcer: guy had hear scary stories.

Speaker:1609

51:44 ,511 --> 00:51:46,587

Marc: I was 20 and I hadn't quite moved out of my

Speaker:1610

51:45 Radio, Yoga, and Dog Talk

51:46 ,667 --> 00:51:48,170

Marc: own yet and my father got really mad.

Speaker:1611

51:48 ,351 --> 00:51:49,796

Marc: He's like why is this person calling at all

Speaker:1612

51:49 ,897 --> 00:51:50,098

Marc: hours?

Speaker:1613

51:50 ,371 --> 00:51:52,144

Marc: I was like I got no control over this guy.

Speaker:1614

51:52 ,164 --> 00:51:52,990

Marc: Oh Jesus, he was really.

Speaker:1615

51:53 ,211 --> 00:51:56,148

Marc: He was like a high school kid who just had

Speaker:1616

51:56 ,168 --> 00:51:56,490

Marc: a good game.

Speaker:1617

51:56 ,671 --> 00:51:58,557

Marc: He knew how to call up the new people of

Speaker:1618

51:58 ,577 --> 00:51:59,500

Marc: the station, scare him.

Speaker:1619

51:59 ,771 --> 00:52:01,057

Marc: Hey, I need a phone number of so-and-so.

Speaker:1620

52:01 ,371 --> 00:52:02,917

Marc: And somebody's like yeah, okay, I'll give

Speaker:1621

52:02 ,957 --> 00:52:03,198

Marc: it to you.

Speaker:1622

52:03 ,491 --> 00:52:04,910

Marc: He got everybody's home phone number.

Speaker:1623

52:05 ,030 --> 00:52:07,479

Marc: So he was very well known around Dallas as

Speaker:1624

52:07 ,901 --> 00:52:10,350

Marc: circa 1990.

Speaker:1625

52:10 ,370 --> 00:52:12,818

Marc: Wow 91, 92, no, about 93, I think, is one

Speaker:1626

52:12 ,838 --> 00:52:13,019

Marc: of them.

Speaker:1627

52:13 ,310 --> 00:52:15,370

Marc: So anyway, sorry, I wanted to dim you off

Speaker:1628

52:15 ,485 --> 00:52:16,375

Marc: the sidetrack there.

Speaker:1629

52:16 ,476 --> 00:52:17,459

Marc: But yeah, I had a stalker.

Speaker:1630

52:17 ,912 --> 00:52:20,140

Anja: No, that was fascinating and scary that is

Speaker:1631

52:18 Radio Personalities

52:20 ,262 --> 00:52:20,993

Anja: one of the things I mean.

Speaker:1632

52:21 ,014 --> 00:52:22,408

Marc: There are some gnarly stories I've heard

Speaker:1633

52:22 ,428 --> 00:52:23,153

Marc: about, but it is.

Speaker:1634

52:23 ,756 --> 00:52:26,188

Marc: The radio ecosystem back in the day was

Speaker:1635

52:26 ,249 --> 00:52:28,759

Marc: cool because you had a lot of personalities

Speaker:1636

52:28 ,884 --> 00:52:30,146

Marc: both on and off the air.

Speaker:1637

52:30 ,732 --> 00:52:33,213

Marc: That made it interesting, and Frasier is a

Speaker:1638

52:33 ,253 --> 00:52:34,358

Marc: great representation of that.

Speaker:1639

52:34 ,671 --> 00:52:36,045

Marc: You think somebody's cool on the air?

Speaker:1640

52:36 ,085 --> 00:52:36,570

Marc: They get off the air.

Speaker:1641

52:36 ,710 --> 00:52:39,484

Marc: They are a train wreck or somebody's mild

Speaker:1642

52:39 ,524 --> 00:52:41,744

Marc: mannered on the air and they are mild

Speaker:1643

52:41 ,784 --> 00:52:43,356

Marc: mannered in real life but they go on the

Speaker:1644

52:43 ,397 --> 00:52:45,150

Marc: air and they're like boisterous.

Speaker:1645

52:45 ,331 --> 00:52:47,397

Marc: There's a movie from way back a long time

Speaker:1646

52:47 ,437 --> 00:52:51,934

Marc: ago called American Graffiti and Wolfman

Speaker:1647

52:51 ,954 --> 00:52:54,255

Marc: Jack is DJ and there's a scene when Richard

Speaker:1648

52:54 ,356 --> 00:52:57,340

Marc: Rifus walks in and he's talking to this guy

Speaker:1649

52:57 ,884 --> 00:52:59,682

Marc: and he doesn't realize that's the guy he's

Speaker:1650

52:59 ,702 --> 00:53:00,309

Marc: hearing on the radio.

Speaker:1651

53:00 ,733 --> 00:53:02,122

Marc: But it's two different personalities.

Speaker:1652

53:02 ,625 --> 00:53:03,189

Marc: But it's a grave.

Speaker:1653

53:03 ,514 --> 00:53:04,350

Marc: You ever seen American Graffiti?

Speaker:1654

53:04 ,471 --> 00:53:04,551

Marc: You?

Speaker:1655

53:04 ,591 --> 00:53:05,133

Announcer: know, but it's a.

Speaker:1656

53:05 ,294 --> 00:53:06,057

Marc: that's an old movie.

Speaker:1657

53:06 ,230 --> 00:53:08,298

Marc: But now we know your album, we know your CD.

Speaker:1658

53:08 ,532 --> 00:53:09,987

Marc: But the next question is if you were

Speaker:1659

53:10 ,027 --> 00:53:12,278

Marc: defined from the time you get up in the

Speaker:1660

53:12 ,318 --> 00:53:14,474

Marc: morning to the time you put your head down,

Speaker:1661

53:15 ,016 --> 00:53:16,838

Marc: you know, on the pillow at night.

Speaker:1662

53:17 ,020 --> 00:53:19,312

Marc: If you had a perfect day, what would be the

Speaker:1663

53:19 ,373 --> 00:53:21,660

Marc: component parts of that perfect day for you?

Speaker:1664

53:21 ,871 --> 00:53:23,496

Marc: The things you've done and experienced, or

Speaker:1665

53:23 ,998 --> 00:53:24,540

Marc: anything really?

Speaker:1666

53:26 ,551 --> 00:53:27,574

Anja: I think my answer would be.

Speaker:1667

53:28 ,958 --> 00:53:31,613

Anja: I guess it would be something simple Like

Speaker:1668

53:32 ,034 --> 00:53:35,002

Anja: wake up without an alarm, Go outside, have

Speaker:1669

53:35 ,022 --> 00:53:37,022

Anja: a nice walk with the dog, have some work

Speaker:1670

53:37 ,042 --> 00:53:41,308

Anja: today, you know probably go to set work on

Speaker:1671

53:41 ,328 --> 00:53:42,476

Anja: some scenes, come home, have dinner, chill,

Speaker:1672

53:42 ,496 --> 00:53:43,000

Anja: watch a movie.

Speaker:1673

53:44 ,813 --> 00:53:46,562

Anja: I think sometimes the things that seem

Speaker:1674

53:46 ,602 --> 00:53:47,789

Anja: boring are actually the best.

Speaker:1675

53:48 ,519 --> 00:53:49,070

Anja: That's what everybody says.

Speaker:1676

53:50 ,261 --> 00:53:51,593

Marc: You know, more than one person has, I mean

Speaker:1677

53:51 ,613 --> 00:53:53,930

Marc: I'd say at least half have mentioned coffee

Speaker:1678

53:54 ,132 --> 00:53:55,585

Marc: being the first thing, making coffee in the

Speaker:1679

53:55 ,605 --> 00:53:55,868

Marc: morning.

Speaker:1680

53:57 ,419 --> 00:53:58,406

Marc: I was speaking with Billy Magnuson and he

Speaker:1681

53:58 ,426 --> 00:54:00,244

Marc: said the ritual of making coffee in the

Speaker:1682

54:00 ,284 --> 00:54:00,506

Marc: morning.

Speaker:1683

54:01 ,011 --> 00:54:02,318

Marc: I'm like yes, that's a thing like grind my

Speaker:1684

54:02 ,338 --> 00:54:04,837

Marc: beans, do the thing.

Speaker:1685

54:04 ,857 --> 00:54:06,546

Marc: That's for me the way you know, totally,

Speaker:1686

54:07 ,471 --> 00:54:08,905

Marc: and I'm out of beans so I didn't start my

Speaker:1687

54:08 ,945 --> 00:54:10,570

Marc: day like that, so I feel a little off.

Speaker:1688

54:10 ,610 --> 00:54:12,935

Marc: But anything else in there, are you?

Speaker:1689

54:12 ,955 --> 00:54:13,257

Marc: You?

Speaker:1690

54:13 ,498 --> 00:54:14,824

Announcer: know as far as hobbies or activities you

Speaker:1691

54:14 ,884 --> 00:54:15,327

Announcer: like to do.

Speaker:1692

54:16 ,151 --> 00:54:16,955

Marc: Yeah, I mean, I love to read.

Speaker:1693

54:20 ,819 --> 00:54:21,743

Anja: I love to just like.

Speaker:1694

54:21 ,903 --> 00:54:23,069

Anja: I'm exploring lots of different movement in

Speaker:1695

54:23 ,089 --> 00:54:26,306

Anja: my life, so I want to take up maybe some

Speaker:1696

54:26 ,427 --> 00:54:27,030

Anja: martial arts.

Speaker:1697

54:27 ,670 --> 00:54:28,658

Anja: Yeah, I'm thinking about Taekwondo or

Speaker:1698

54:28 ,739 --> 00:54:31,375

Anja: something like that, just like I'm thinking

Speaker:1699

54:31 ,395 --> 00:54:33,473

Anja: about Taekwondo, something like that just

Speaker:1700

54:33 ,533 --> 00:54:37,553

Anja: to A be able to defend myself but also just

Speaker:1701

54:37 ,693 --> 00:54:40,314

Anja: challenge myself in a way, and I kind of

Speaker:1702

54:40 ,354 --> 00:54:41,891

Anja: like that they have all the belts that you

Speaker:1703

54:41 ,912 --> 00:54:43,878

Anja: have to earn and stuff and kind of gives

Speaker:1704

54:43 ,898 --> 00:54:44,929

Anja: you something to focus on.

Speaker:1705

54:45 ,150 --> 00:54:46,195

Anja: I think that's really cool.

Speaker:1706

54:46 ,370 --> 00:54:51,523

Anja: But yeah, just I think trying new skills,

Speaker:1707

54:52 ,490 --> 00:54:55,720

Anja: trying a new thing and learning something

Speaker:1708

54:56 ,052 --> 00:54:57,304

Anja: is always a good day for me.

Speaker:1709

54:57 ,325 --> 00:54:57,789

Anja: You know?

Speaker:1710

54:57 ,991 --> 00:54:59,798

Marc: Yeah, because as you get older it becomes a

Speaker:1711

54:59 ,858 --> 00:55:01,592

Marc: little bit of seductive, just to go with a

Speaker:1712

55:01 ,632 --> 00:55:04,931

Marc: thing that's comfortable and routine and

Speaker:1713

55:04 ,971 --> 00:55:07,013

Marc: it's kind of nice to break it up it is and

Speaker:1714

55:07 ,033 --> 00:55:07,997

Marc: to challenge yourself.

Speaker:1715

55:08 ,291 --> 00:55:10,003

Marc: I was thinking about that like the Tai Chi

Speaker:1716

55:10 ,124 --> 00:55:11,933

Marc: or yoga was a thing you know, just to stay

Speaker:1717

55:12 ,034 --> 00:55:13,178

Marc: limber, you know.

Speaker:1718

55:14 ,222 --> 00:55:15,787

Anja: I keep telling me that's on my agenda.

Speaker:1719

55:15 ,867 --> 00:55:17,638

Marc: I still want to do that Just to just to be

Speaker:1720

55:17 ,779 --> 00:55:19,130

Marc: limber, and people I know that are into it

Speaker:1721

55:19 ,250 --> 00:55:20,957

Marc: seem to be healthier generally.

Speaker:1722

55:21 ,510 --> 00:55:22,635

Anja: Have you done yoga before?

Speaker:1723

55:22 ,835 --> 00:55:23,538

Marc: Unintentionally.

Speaker:1724

55:26 ,328 --> 00:55:26,830

Anja: My back hurts.

Speaker:1725

55:26 ,993 --> 00:55:28,981

Anja: I have to do the stretch, yeah, but not

Speaker:1726

55:29 ,042 --> 00:55:29,710

Anja: actually I did a thing.

Speaker:1727

55:29 ,850 --> 00:55:31,336

Marc: I was in a car accident years ago and they

Speaker:1728

55:31 ,356 --> 00:55:34,745

Marc: were talking about had some herniated discs

Speaker:1729

55:34 ,765 --> 00:55:36,314

Marc: and they said well, you got to show me

Speaker:1730

55:36 ,334 --> 00:55:37,037

Marc: different exercises.

Speaker:1731

55:37 ,251 --> 00:55:37,392

Announcer: Like.

Speaker:1732

55:37 ,994 --> 00:55:38,256

Marc: I did.

Speaker:1733

55:38 ,532 --> 00:55:39,926

Marc: I remember doing a couple of them, thinking

Speaker:1734

55:39 ,986 --> 00:55:42,478

Marc: generally oh, I feel looser in other places

Speaker:1735

55:42 ,538 --> 00:55:44,419

Marc: too, so I need to do that.

Speaker:1736

55:44 ,611 --> 00:55:46,792

Marc: You should write a little note here, yoga

Speaker:1737

55:47 ,314 --> 00:55:49,310

Marc: yoga, I got to put that on my little daily,

Speaker:1738

55:49 ,491 --> 00:55:50,996

Marc: my notepad of things to do for the day, but

Speaker:1739

55:51 ,036 --> 00:55:51,438

Marc: at the top.

Speaker:1740

55:51 ,871 --> 00:55:53,637

Anja: Maybe, maybe you need to sign up for a

Speaker:1741

55:53 ,717 --> 00:55:54,099

Anja: class.

Speaker:1742

55:54 ,511 --> 00:55:57,111

Anja: I am my husband doesn't vary into yoga, but

Speaker:1743

55:57 ,192 --> 00:55:59,663

Anja: I signed me and him up for a class.

Speaker:1744

55:59 ,703 --> 00:56:01,310

Anja: That's once a week and it's super simple.

Speaker:1745

56:01 ,432 --> 00:56:03,914

Anja: It's it's yin yoga, so it's much more of

Speaker:1746

56:03 ,934 --> 00:56:06,141

Anja: like a deeper stretch yoga.

Speaker:1747

56:06 ,533 --> 00:56:07,550

Anja: It doesn't, you don't sweat as much.

Speaker:1748

56:07 ,690 --> 00:56:11,200

Anja: It's more like a deep stretch and he really

Speaker:1749

56:11 ,260 --> 00:56:14,467

Anja: loves it and it's new for him, but he's

Speaker:1750

56:14 ,527 --> 00:56:14,890

Anja: enjoying it.

Speaker:1751

56:15 ,011 --> 00:56:16,525

Anja: So I think, yeah, maybe if you push

Speaker:1752

56:16 ,545 --> 00:56:17,070

Anja: yourself to sign up.

Speaker:1753

56:17 ,170 --> 00:56:18,736

Marc: Well, one of the reasons I told my kids

Speaker:1754

56:18 ,776 --> 00:56:20,835

Marc: that I, that I wanted this destination to

Speaker:1755

56:20 ,876 --> 00:56:23,376

Marc: live on, this, this island is I got let's

Speaker:1756

56:23 ,416 --> 00:56:26,016

Marc: see which direction I got the beach 600

Speaker:1757

56:26 ,036 --> 00:56:28,758

Marc: feet that way, I think, so I can just go.

Speaker:1758

56:29 ,114 --> 00:56:30,309

Marc: You know, I got the beach like right there

Speaker:1759

56:30 ,510 --> 00:56:32,357

Marc: so I can go out, walk every day, get some

Speaker:1760

56:32 ,417 --> 00:56:36,015

Marc: exercise and and it's I just think it's

Speaker:1761

56:36 ,135 --> 00:56:38,371

Marc: being active becomes more and more Like.

Speaker:1762

56:38 ,491 --> 00:56:39,937

Marc: you become aware of it because you can be

Speaker:1763

56:40 ,150 --> 00:56:41,775

Marc: if I find myself being like.

Speaker:1764

56:41 ,895 --> 00:56:44,412

Marc: I'm been sedentary for a lot lately, a lot

Speaker:1765

56:44 ,432 --> 00:56:46,510

Marc: of the time lately, so I need to get moved.

Speaker:1766

56:46 ,651 --> 00:56:48,423

Anja: Totally, it's so easy to be.

Speaker:1767

56:48 ,591 --> 00:56:49,776

Marc: Well, you mentioned, you know you, having a

Speaker:1768

56:49 ,836 --> 00:56:50,077

Marc: dog.

Speaker:1769

56:50 ,451 --> 00:56:52,412

Marc: I had a wonderful golden retriever Almost

Speaker:1770

56:52 ,452 --> 00:56:54,397

Marc: exactly a year ago past and my heart's

Speaker:1771

56:54 ,417 --> 00:56:56,030

Marc: still broken, you know, but we're still

Speaker:1772

56:56 ,211 --> 00:56:57,299

Marc: we're starting to think about a puppy now,

Speaker:1773

56:57 ,319 --> 00:56:59,111

Marc: oh of course, oh, but thank you Now.

Speaker:1774

56:59 ,212 --> 00:57:02,445

Marc: But I I realized that having a dog keeps

Speaker:1775

57:02 ,465 --> 00:57:03,690

Marc: you far more active as well.

Speaker:1776

57:03 ,931 --> 00:57:05,215

Marc: Just that simple thing of getting out

Speaker:1777

57:05 ,255 --> 00:57:08,400

Marc: walking a few times a day, you know, going

Speaker:1778

57:08 ,420 --> 00:57:09,840

Marc: on adventures with your dog Absolutely.

Speaker:1779

57:09 ,900 --> 00:57:10,305

Anja: It does.

Speaker:1780

57:10 ,366 --> 00:57:11,614

Marc: I love it Now did you bring your dog on

Speaker:1781

57:11 ,654 --> 00:57:12,517

Marc: your on your road trip?

Speaker:1782

57:12 ,851 --> 00:57:13,333

Anja: I did?

Speaker:1783

57:13 ,534 --> 00:57:14,337

Anja: Yeah, we did.

Speaker:1784

57:14 ,490 --> 00:57:17,038

Anja: He lived with us in New Mexico and he was

Speaker:1785

57:17 ,058 --> 00:57:19,716

Anja: still a puppy then, so it was kind of his

Speaker:1786

57:19 ,776 --> 00:57:22,296

Anja: first home and the first time he saw snow.

Speaker:1787

57:22 ,832 --> 00:57:24,136

Marc: Oh, I think you put a picture on your

Speaker:1788

57:24 ,196 --> 00:57:25,933

Marc: Instagram of him, I think when he was

Speaker:1789

57:25 ,953 --> 00:57:26,757

Marc: sleeping or something.

Speaker:1790

57:27 ,651 --> 00:57:28,034

Anja: I did.

Speaker:1791

57:28 ,114 --> 00:57:30,630

Anja: He's super cute, his name's Ollie.

Speaker:1792

57:30 ,891 --> 00:57:31,594

Marc: Oh he is a cutie.

Speaker:1793

57:31 ,634 --> 00:57:32,177

Marc: He is a cutie.

Speaker:1794

57:33 ,071 --> 00:57:33,935

Marc: I'm a big dog person.

Speaker:1795

57:34 ,351 --> 00:57:34,816

Anja: Me too.

Speaker:1796

57:35 ,078 --> 00:57:36,430

Anja: I love dogs so much.

Speaker:1797

57:36 ,571 --> 00:57:38,418

Anja: I wanted a dog ever since I was a kid.

Speaker:1798

57:39 ,452 --> 00:57:42,115

Anja: We never had one growing up, so having one

Speaker:1799

57:42 ,155 --> 00:57:44,241

Anja: now is just it's a dream.

Speaker:1800

57:44 ,971 --> 00:57:46,476

Anja: I am so obsessed with him.

Speaker:1801

57:46 ,536 --> 00:57:48,702

Anja: It's like too much that person.

Speaker:1802

57:49 ,031 --> 00:57:50,537

Anja: I try to keep the pictures to a minimum,

Speaker:1803

57:51 ,070 --> 00:57:53,703

Anja: but I definitely like internally.

Speaker:1804

57:53 ,723 --> 00:57:55,474

Anja: I'm just so obsessed I.

Speaker:1805

57:55 ,656 --> 00:57:57,150

Anja: It's so cool to live with an animal.

Speaker:1806

57:57 ,311 --> 00:57:59,710

Marc: Nope, I say, post all the pictures you want.

Speaker:1807

57:59 ,871 --> 00:58:00,939

Marc: Dog people get it.

Speaker:1808

58:01 ,261 --> 00:58:03,095

Marc: You know, with with my golden he would be

Speaker:1809

58:03 ,116 --> 00:58:03,904

Marc: in the studio with me.

Speaker:1810

58:03 ,925 --> 00:58:06,020

Marc: Yeah that's true, you know, and it, it, it.

Speaker:1811

58:06 ,101 --> 00:58:06,947

Marc: I think I took it hard to read.

Speaker:1812

58:06 ,987 --> 00:58:08,276

Marc: Even my kids and I know it wasn't.

Speaker:1813

58:08 ,296 --> 00:58:09,707

Marc: They grew up with him from the time he was

Speaker:1814

58:09 ,748 --> 00:58:11,194

Marc: a little puppy and I wanted them to have a

Speaker:1815

58:11 ,636 --> 00:58:14,233

Marc: dog but, I, was realizing he was only 10,

Speaker:1816

58:14 ,273 --> 00:58:15,578

Marc: which is kind of young.

Speaker:1817

58:15 ,759 --> 00:58:17,550

Marc: You know for my experience with dogs.

Speaker:1818

58:17 ,751 --> 00:58:20,950

Anja: I was just young and goldens are so lovely.

Speaker:1819

58:21 ,839 --> 00:58:23,091

Marc: They're puppies their whole life, but

Speaker:1820

58:23 ,111 --> 00:58:25,807

Marc: they're also very very noble and very

Speaker:1821

58:25 ,868 --> 00:58:27,757

Marc: intelligent, smarter than me in many

Speaker:1822

58:27 ,797 --> 00:58:28,219

Marc: regards.

Speaker:1823

58:28 ,279 --> 00:58:30,610

Marc: You know he was and beautiful.

Speaker:1824

58:30 ,791 --> 00:58:32,564

Marc: Yeah, the only the only downside and

Speaker:1825

58:32 ,584 --> 00:58:33,511

Marc: there's not really a downside, just

Speaker:1826

58:33 ,557 --> 00:58:34,975

Marc: something you have to prepare yourself for

Speaker:1827

58:35 ,021 --> 00:58:36,223

Marc: and you have a golden Is she need a really

Speaker:1828

58:36 ,291 --> 00:58:37,228

Marc: good vacuum cleaner.

Speaker:1829

58:37 ,370 --> 00:58:38,415

Marc: They shed like crazy.

Speaker:1830

58:38 ,676 --> 00:58:40,723

Marc: You know, Anybody has a golden is me like

Speaker:1831

58:40 ,743 --> 00:58:41,288

Marc: hell, yeah, yeah.

Speaker:1832

58:41 ,712 --> 00:58:43,930

Marc: It's just, we're moving and he's, he's past

Speaker:1833

58:44 ,091 --> 00:58:45,928

Marc: and we're still finding somehow there are

Speaker:1834

58:45 ,948 --> 00:58:47,774

Marc: little bits of his hair have shown up here,

Speaker:1835

58:48 ,198 --> 00:58:49,430

Marc: 700 something miles away.

Speaker:1836

58:49 ,631 --> 00:58:51,999

Announcer: So it's you know anything, that that's.

Speaker:1837

58:52 ,411 --> 00:58:55,140

Marc: I have some components of my studio sound

Speaker:1838

58:55 ,160 --> 00:58:57,417

Marc: booth that rely on some of the corners,

Speaker:1839

58:57 ,437 --> 00:58:57,979

Marc: like Velcro.

Speaker:1840

58:58 ,931 --> 00:58:59,895

Marc: There are little bits of his hair.

Speaker:1841

58:59 ,915 --> 00:59:00,577

Marc: They caught in the Velcro.

Speaker:1842

59:00 ,650 --> 00:59:01,393

Anja: Yeah, oh there.

Speaker:1843

59:01 ,433 --> 00:59:03,039

Anja: I'm sure there's hair in there forever.

Speaker:1844

59:03 ,391 --> 00:59:04,255

Anja: You'll never get that out.

Speaker:1845

59:04 ,570 --> 00:59:06,277

Anja: That's the glitter that you get from the

Speaker:1846

59:06 ,317 --> 00:59:06,618

Anja: dogs.

Speaker:1847

59:07 ,051 --> 00:59:08,537

Marc: Puppy yes, indeed.

Speaker:1848

59:09 ,511 --> 00:59:11,658

Marc: Now the last couple of questions I got for

Speaker:1849

59:11 ,699 --> 00:59:14,076

Marc: you is if you weren't doing this, if you

Speaker:1850

59:14 ,136 --> 00:59:17,881

Marc: weren't on camera enjoying, riding, doing

Speaker:1851

59:17 ,901 --> 00:59:19,377

Marc: the thing creatively you're doing, what

Speaker:1852

59:19 ,438 --> 00:59:20,270

Marc: else would you be doing?

Speaker:1853

59:20 ,391 --> 00:59:21,415

Marc: Could you see yourself doing?

Speaker:1854

59:24 ,210 --> 00:59:25,075

Anja: That's a good question.

Speaker:1855

59:25 ,271 --> 00:59:27,232

Anja: Also, I think when I was little I would

Speaker:1856

59:27 ,252 --> 00:59:29,705

Anja: have answered marine biologist, because

Speaker:1857

59:29 ,865 --> 00:59:31,593

Anja: everybody I know wanted to be a marine

Speaker:1858

59:31 ,613 --> 00:59:32,898

Anja: biologist for some reason.

Speaker:1859

59:34 ,130 --> 00:59:38,280

Anja: But I think now, if I could already have

Speaker:1860

59:38 ,341 --> 00:59:41,978

Anja: like the credentials behind me, I think I'd

Speaker:1861

59:41 ,998 --> 00:59:44,270

Anja: want to be something connected to like

Speaker:1862

59:45 ,092 --> 00:59:51,303

Anja: space or like astronomy or something to do

Speaker:1863

59:51 ,364 --> 00:59:54,590

Anja: with just what's out there.

Speaker:1864

59:54 ,711 --> 00:59:55,649

Anja: That's very cool.

Speaker:1865

59:56 ,418 --> 00:59:57,530

Marc: I mean there's a lot of wonder out there,

Speaker:1866

59:58 ,092 --> 01:00:00,562

Marc: there's a lot of the unknown which makes it

Speaker:1867

1:00:01 ,426 --> 01:00:02,410

Marc: like cool contemplation.

Speaker:1868

1:00:03 ,419 --> 01:00:04,468

Marc: But to actually, like you said, be

Speaker:1869

1:00:04 ,488 --> 01:00:06,441

Marc: credentialed, I spoke with Neil deGrasse

Speaker:1870

1:00:06 ,461 --> 01:00:07,790

Marc: Tyson some time ago last year.

Speaker:1871

1:00:08 ,396 --> 01:00:11,600

Anja: I was like what a cool job I saw that, I

Speaker:1872

1:00:11 ,681 --> 01:00:13,319

Anja: just think that's such a he came to mind,

Speaker:1873

1:00:13 ,339 --> 01:00:15,157

Anja: when I was just thinking that I mean here's

Speaker:1874

1:00:15 ,178 --> 01:00:17,263

Anja: somebody who studied the thing but still

Speaker:1875

1:00:17 ,283 --> 01:00:17,950

Anja: has some aspect of wonder to it.

Speaker:1876

1:00:18 ,641 --> 01:00:18,966

Marc: I'm like what?

Speaker:1877

1:00:18 ,986 --> 01:00:21,262

Announcer: a cool gig, and that's why I'm so

Speaker:1878

1:00:21 ,282 --> 01:00:22,570

Announcer: infinitely jazzed to drive down.

Speaker:1879

1:00:23 ,417 --> 01:00:24,830

Marc: It's called Boca Chica Park.

Speaker:1880

1:00:24 ,871 --> 01:00:26,187

Marc: Well, it used to be a park.

Speaker:1881

1:00:26 ,450 --> 01:00:27,563

Marc: That's where SpaceX is located.

Speaker:1882

1:00:29 ,097 --> 01:00:30,648

Marc: Starbase is the name of the place.

Speaker:1883

1:00:30 ,668 --> 01:00:33,568

Marc: So cool and everybody I know I haven't seen

Speaker:1884

1:00:33 ,588 --> 01:00:36,023

Marc: a launch yet, because the last one happened

Speaker:1885

1:00:36 ,044 --> 01:00:37,050

Marc: right before we moved here.

Speaker:1886

1:00:38 ,136 --> 01:00:39,725

Marc: But they said you stand there and you

Speaker:1887

1:00:39 ,785 --> 01:00:40,933

Marc: actually can feel the vibrations in your

Speaker:1888

1:00:41 ,035 --> 01:00:43,479

Marc: chest of the rocket taken off, Like how

Speaker:1889

1:00:43 ,539 --> 01:00:44,247

Marc: cool is that?

Speaker:1890

1:00:44 ,267 --> 01:00:44,408

Marc: Wow.

Speaker:1891

1:00:45 ,799 --> 01:00:47,390

Marc: But, even when it exploded you could hear

Speaker:1892

1:00:47 ,654 --> 01:00:49,795

Marc: I've watched some video of it People were

Speaker:1893

1:00:49 ,815 --> 01:00:52,085

Marc: like cheering because the explosion looked

Speaker:1894

1:00:52 ,105 --> 01:00:52,367

Marc: really cool.

Speaker:1895

1:00:52 ,387 --> 01:00:53,964

Marc: But I've been watching, I've been kind of

Speaker:1896

1:00:53 ,985 --> 01:00:54,270

Marc: nerding out.

Speaker:1897

1:00:55 ,023 --> 01:00:56,686

Marc: There's a I'll give you my free little plug

Speaker:1898

1:00:56 ,758 --> 01:00:56,939

Marc: here.

Speaker:1899

1:00:57 ,903 --> 01:00:59,669

Marc: It's called WAI, what about it?

Speaker:1900

1:01:00 ,638 --> 01:01:01,547

Marc: I think there are these guys that follow

Speaker:1901

1:01:01 ,567 --> 01:01:03,843

Marc: what's going on and I'm kind of learning

Speaker:1902

1:01:03 ,903 --> 01:01:06,161

Marc: about the whole SpaceX ecosystem through

Speaker:1903

1:01:06 ,181 --> 01:01:06,908

Marc: these guys on YouTube.

Speaker:1904

1:01:06 ,929 --> 01:01:07,070

Marc: So cool.

Speaker:1905

1:01:07 ,070 --> 01:01:08,190

Marc: And they're talking about what's going on

Speaker:1906

1:01:08 ,877 --> 01:01:10,250

Marc: and I can go out my door, drive my car.

Speaker:1907

1:01:10 ,553 --> 01:01:12,010

Marc: My daughter and I take a drive and I'll see

Speaker:1908

1:01:12 ,391 --> 01:01:13,695

Marc: we have to cross a bridge to get into

Speaker:1909

1:01:13 ,756 --> 01:01:15,763

Marc: what's called Port Isabel and we're driving

Speaker:1910

1:01:15 ,784 --> 01:01:16,110

Marc: over the bridge.

Speaker:1911

1:01:16 ,291 --> 01:01:18,804

Marc: You can see the launch tower, the lights

Speaker:1912

1:01:18 ,844 --> 01:01:20,030

Marc: that blink for aircraft.

Speaker:1913

1:01:20 ,295 --> 01:01:20,906

Marc: You know it's cool.

Speaker:1914

1:01:21 ,331 --> 01:01:22,560

Marc: I mean I kind of nerd out on it.

Speaker:1915

1:01:22 ,601 --> 01:01:24,517

Marc: I get I turn into a kid all over again

Speaker:1916

1:01:24 ,557 --> 01:01:26,063

Marc: about anything's space.

Speaker:1917

1:01:27 ,388 --> 01:01:29,115

Marc: But hey, you never know, Maybe one day plan

Speaker:1918

1:01:29 ,135 --> 01:01:29,577

Marc: when you know they're.

Speaker:1919

1:01:29 ,770 --> 01:01:31,054

Marc: They said eventually they're going to get

Speaker:1920

1:01:31 ,114 --> 01:01:33,712

Marc: to, I think, 12 launches a month, which is

Speaker:1921

1:01:33 ,732 --> 01:01:34,937

Marc: just going to be crazy cool.

Speaker:1922

1:01:34 ,977 --> 01:01:36,656
